Meet Musanse Kaunga, a passionate young marketer from Zambia 👏 Through our Futuremakers employability programme, Musanse gained the skills and experience needed to kick-start her career. After joining our Youth to Work initiative, which is delivered by NGO Challenges Worldwide, she landed a placement with a company focused on sustainable beekeeping. During her placement, Musanse sharpened her marketing skills, learned valuable business practices, and supported social media engagement, all of which paved the way for her to secure a marketing manager position at a local food and beverages company. We are committed to helping young people, especially women and those with disabilities, learn, earn, and grow. Between 2024-2030 we aim to help create and sustain 140,000 jobs through our employability and entrepreneurship programmes, empowering more young people like Musanse to find meaningful work and achieve their dreams. #PoweringYoungPeople #SCFuturemaking

Standard Chartered Malaysia celebrated its 100th year anniversary in Kuching, honouring a century since we opened our first Kuching branch in 1924!   To commemorate this significant milestone, a celebratory high tea was graced by The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, who recognised our contributions to the state's economic transformation over the past century.   Our CEO Malaysia, Joon Nien Mak, further reinforced our commitment to supporting Sarawak's vision for the future. As part of this effort, a Women in Entrepreneurship (WiE) Networking event by Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative was hosted, aimed at cultivating new opportunities for growth and collaboration.   Here's to the next 100 years in Kuching, Sarawak, and beyond! 💙💚   #HereForGood

Through our long-term partnership with Liverpool Football Club, we were able to offer our clients and colleagues the experience of a lifetime as they got to spend time with the First Team and Head Coach during the Reds’ recent pre-season tour of the United States. 🤩 In addition to attending LFC’s matches is Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and South Carolina, our guests got up close and personal with current LFC players, Legends, Coaches and team mascot Mighty Red at training sessions, exclusive dinners and children’s soccer clinics. A few lucky clients even had the opportunity to see their kids be child mascots at LFC’s games, walking out onto the pitch with the squad in front of tens of thousands of fans ahead of kick-off. As well as getting permanent mementos, like autographs and photos, with the First Team and Arne Slot, our guests learned what keeps the players motivated and focussed, how they prepare for big matches and what they think about the growing popularity of soccer in the US. Any of our guests who didn’t consider themselves a diehard Red before the tour, certainly do now! ⚽️ Watch all the action from the summer tour in our highlights video below 👇 #SCLFCtour

“Gen AI, is quite special because it democratises access to technology. How do you supercharge the ambitions of Gen Z entrepreneurs? This month, children of our Priority Private clients learned world-class business skills at our inaugural Young Entrepreneur Programme in Singapore. Developed in partnership with SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, our fintech investment and innovation arm, and INSEAD, a leading business school, the four-day entrepreneurship event is part of our programme of unique Global Experiences for Priority Private clients. Beyond our clients as individuals, our programme’s inter-generational element extends to also benefit their families. We welcomed 53 participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and the UAE, who learnt the essential building blocks of entrepreneurial success. What advice does Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, have for the next generation of entrepreneurs? 1. Be curious “Develop your intellectual curiosity with a commercial bias – and an emphasis on enjoyment. It’s pretty hard to compete and perform at things we don’t actually enjoy.” 2. Keep learning and reskilling “Make lifelong learning and reskilling a real mission. I expect the shelf life of any acquired skills today to last for about 5 years, beyond which the pace of change is such that these skills may well have become obsolete.” We’re helping our Priority Private clients and their families build wealth and success from one generation to the next.
