For patients, families and Bristol
About us
St Peter’s Hospice is a Bristol charity caring for adults with incurable illnesses. Our goal is to improve the quality of their living and dying while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. Ready for a change? We're recruiting for nurses, HCAs, retail staff, drivers, and office-based roles to support our fundraising. Joining a friendly, nurturing team is just one of the benefits. Find out more: https://www.stpetershospice.org/about-us/jobs/vacancies All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £27,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money we rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and our shops. Thank you for your support.

You may remember us telling you recently that we’ve been taking part in a 12 month project to improve Prison staff’s palliative, end of life and bereavement knowledge by running educational sessions and training to three local prisons; Leyhill, Ashfield and Horfield. The project was funded by the Linder Foundation through Hospice UK. Team members from our L&D, Psychological Therapy and Multi-Faith teams ran four cohorts of sessions across two days. They covered subjects including end of life care, the last days of life, and what a good death looks like in prison. The people who came really valued the sessions, one participant said, “I now know how to manage end of life care and give the best support to the dying person”. We recently welcomed a group of women from our local Bangladeshi community who came to learn about the services we offer. The visit included an introduction to our Day Services sessions, hosted by Day Services Manager, Rachel, who explained how the sessions help our patients live well through an incurable illness. Our Social Work team also talked through the support that they give to families. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/enD8DyGD
