It was a pleasure to welcome Professor Adeeba Malik, High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, to St Gemma's yesterday. She spent time learning more about the work we do both in the Hospice and the community, as well as chatting with our patient Rod, who served in the police force for over 50 years. A huge thank you for taking the time to visit the Hospice. #HospiceCare #Leeds #StGemmasHospice

"The whole team feel like my second family and I could not have coped without them. We should all be thankful to have St Gemma’s in our community. They are the best thing since sliced bread." When Andrew was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few years ago, he felt scared and alone. St Gemma’s support helped him to continue doing the things he loved, and that many of us take for granted, such as getting outdoors. Andrew was recently re-admitted to St Gemma's and died peacefully at the Hospice on his birthday. Rest in peace, Andrew 💜 Read Andrew's story at https://lnkd.in/exGNM9aN
