Last week, our ESG Manager Caitlin Sweny attended Day 2 of the B Corp Festival: Louder Than Words 🎉 hosted by B Lab. She came back super excited with all the incredible insights that SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ can now act on, helping us strengthen our impact as both a B Corp and a purpose-driven business 🌍. Here are a few highlights that left Caitlin feeling inspired and will help guide us as we continue to grow and pursue our sustainability goals: ▶ Patrick Grant, founder of Community Clothing, summarises his book 'Less' which argues his main ethos and driving mission of going back to basics and that we all should buy less, better & local. 🛍 ▶ The incredible Molly Chauhan from Motability Operations Ltd who was part of the Catalysing Change panel, highlighted that disability is the only minority group that anyone can become part of at any point in their life. Inclusivity and diversity are important for businesses and those within them to thrive. 🙏 ▶ The super impressive Amy Clarke who was part of the 'From Insiders to Activists' discussion. Her unwavering passion for systems change and purpose was so refreshing: "Recognise we are all insiders and that the system is not broken, it just needs to be reimagined". ✨ ▶ Cynthia V Davis CBE from Diversifying Group breaking down the challenges we face within the Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) space reminding us to "rule out fear" and that everyone has a part to play in creating an inclusive workforce. 🤝 ▶ Brompton Bicycle & Naseem Akhtar of Sähëlï Hub remind us that helping your local communities is the heartbeat of driving true impact, something that resonates deeply with us at SR2. 💙 ▶ The 'Road to Net Zero' panel discussed how we can all learn from our collective efforts and mistakes. Why we need to engage the whole business on carbon reduction initiatives to foster a better future 🌍. ▶ Gihan Hyde's perfect quote to break down the lines across Sustainability, CSR & ESG: "Sustainability is the canvas, CSR is the thread and ESG is the embroidery."
