LVMH and Red Bull are in talks to acquire majority stakes in Paris FC , with Pierre Ferracci selling 55% to the Arnault family and 15% to Red Bull. Ferracci will retain a 30% share until 2027, after which LVMH is expected to assume full ownership. This acquisition is the latest in LVMH’s strategic push into sports, following its landmark 10-year central sponsorship deal with Formula 1, the longest in the sport’s history. #RedBull, meanwhile, expands its multi club ownership football strategy under the direction of Jürgen Klopp, recently appointed head of global soccer. Amid PSG’s stadium uncertainties, an Arnault-led Paris FC could alter the competitive landscape in Parisian football. ✍ Gavin Hamilton 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e-Zd54mv

A battle of narratives is unfolding as Manchester City Football Club and The Premier League face off in a high-stakes legal showdown. The legal standoff between #ManCity and the #PL escalated this week, with both sides fighting to control the narrative around the league’s Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules. We take a look at why the Premier League claims victory, despite Manchester City securing key wins on two sponsorship deals blocked by the league. And we analyse why this latest legal clash was merely a preview of the main event, as both sides prepare for an even bigger battle ahead. ✍ Matthew Glendinning & Callum McCarthy 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eEiV4t4d

20 years ago today, adidas cemented its position at the heart of U.S. soccer by securing a landmark 10-year, $150m deal with Major League Soccer. Adidas has poured well over a billion dollars into #MLS since 2004, aligning its brand with a cast of football legends who have made America their home, all while proudly donning Adidas-branded kits. Fast-forward, and football is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. This long-standing partnership, now worth nearly ten times its original value, will continue through 2030, as the U.S host the 2026 Fifa World Cup, for which Adidas will be front and centre.

𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄: The European Tour broke even in 2023, thanks to £19.6m in “underpin funding” from the PGA TOUR, SportBusiness can reveal. The funding, part of the latest strategic alliance between the tours, offset operational losses as the DP World Tour faced rising costs from inflation and big investment in tournament purses to compete with LIV Golf. The financial agreement between the tours is in place for five years, running through 2027. ✍️ Martin Ross 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e-fhtiDw
