Today, we said goodbye 🫂 to good friends Carol & Mark 🇺🇲 as they're flying back to Atlanta, after enjoying a 2nd Scottish vacation guided 🗺️📍 by our head Selkie 🦭 This trip was pretty unique for us because we got to hang out on the east ➡️ coast for the whole adventure, and at a much slower pace than most of our trips around Scotland. We started in Inverness and stayed several nights in Ballater and Pitlochry. This gave us easy access to the regions of Moray, Aberdeenshire, Fife, Perth & Kinross and Highland. It's been a busy couple of weeks here at Selkie HQ 🦭 The '24 is well underway with back to back, private bespoke vacations for several family & friends groups from the States 🇺🇲. The weather has held good (although as I type this it's currently horizontal 🌧️☔😆 ), and I've had some quality time with my camera 📸 too. Mr Ted 🐾🐾 has been a bit neglected (but friends are making sure he doesn't get into too much trouble while we're busy). Our clients are loving our tours 🗺️📍and enquiries for the '25 are dropping into the inbox 📥 which is brilliant too. Lots of detailed planning 📋📝 goes into making this travel company a 5 star ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ experience but it's evident we're going to need to step 🪜 it up soon with some support behind the scenes, as well as recruiting some more Selkies 🦭🦭🦭 #bespoketours #scottishtours #selkie #selkietours

In the first (and last 😆) in the series of 'Meet 🤝 the Team', here's our head Selkie 🦭 Darryl. Actually I'm the only seal as Mr Ted 🐾🐾 🐕, our commercial director likes to remind me 😁. I'm the guy who creates magical, bespoke multi-day tours 🗺️📍across Scotland for discerning guests. Ted mostly stays home 🏡 and does the books 📚🧮 , although he has been asked to join me on a couple of trips. Selkie is now 12 months old, 🎈🎂 and my baby 🍼 ❤️ has evolved into one of the highest rated, independent tour companies on the west coast of Scotland. You can check out my 30 x 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews in the bio. They can't all be wrong 🧐 😁. So why do I think 🤔 I get such great feedback? Well, I started in the hospitality business when I was just 13. After University, I went on to lead a number of deluxe hotels as General Manager and always focused on the team & guest experience. You have to love 🧡 people to do this job well. I also have a serious level of 'ATD' (attention to detail 👍) and a love of history and the country I call home. Local knowledge is key when choosing your guide, but it's surprising how many guides are not actually local ! I've driven almost every inch of Scotland and many of the Islands, keeping myself up to date with the best restaurants, hotels and cultural events. As such, my tour Itineraries are built with each client in mind and I focus on the 'whole' experience. I take time to get to know you and we plan the adventure together. I listen to your ideas and add value along the way. I can take care of all the details including ferry sailings, tickets to historic sites and dinner reservations as well as offering my expert opinions on local lodgings. Joining a Selkie tour is a little like being in a hotel 🏨 on wheels 🚌 but with a fabulous 😍 concierge to boot 🥾. What a fabulous day tour 🗺️📍 yesterday with a lovely American family and our Selkie 🦭 folk.
