Spirax Group is the new name for Spirax-Sarco Engineering. We are a global thermal energy and fluid technology solutions Group, positioned to play a critical role in enabling the industrial transition to net zero, in support of our Purpose, to create sustainable value for all our stakeholders, as we engineer a more efficient, safer and sustainable world. Our solutions improve the operating efficiency and safety of the critical industrial processes that sit behind the production of consumables used every day. Our recently launched new-to-world decarbonisation* solutions use proprietary technologies to electrify boilers, for the raising of steam, as well as the electrification of other critical industrial process heating applications. Our Group comprises three world-leading Businesses: Steam Thermal Solutions helps customers control and manage steam within their mission critical industrial applications, helping to put food safely on the world’s tables and keep our hospitals running. Steam Thermal Solutions includes: Spirax Sarco Gestra Electric Thermal Solutions has proprietary technologies that deliver electrification solutions at scale in industrial settings. We also deliver freeze protection and defrost solutions critical to aviation and space industries and ensure thermal uniformity in semiconductor chip manufacturing to power the critical electronic systems we rely on. Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions is engineering vital fluid technology solutions that optimise the efficient use of resources and support advancements in global health, such as lifesaving vaccines and gene therapies. Spirax Group is a FTSE 100 Company, headquartered in Cheltenham (UK). We have 37 strategically located manufacturing plants around the world, with 10,000 colleagues, operating in 66 countries and serving 110,000 customers globally. * Eliminates Scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions when connected to a green electricity source.

    Small actions can have a big impact.  In fact, there’s a saying that ‘from little acorns mighty oaks grow.’   That’s why, for this year’s International Day of Charity, we’re aiming to inspire colleagues across Spirax Group to take action and contribute to a greener, more sustainable world. And it’s all about planting trees! It’s called One Plant.  There are lots of different ways for our colleagues to get involved in our One Plant initiative. Whether pledging or planting, volunteering time or donating through a community project, colleagues can make their difference by helping biodiversity to thrive.  Biodiversity is the variety of life on earth and helping to protect it is one of the six initiatives within our One Planet: Engineering with Purpose Sustainability Strategy. One Planet is our roadmap to building a more sustainable future which aims to deliver climate and environmental action, increased customer sustainability, resilient supply chains and stronger communities. This September, we’re asking our colleagues to help build a living legacy with their local communities. And Spirax Group is helping their commitment take root by planting a tree in the name of each colleague who gets involved.     There’s making a difference, and then there’s making our difference, together. Each of our 10,000 Spirax Group colleagues worldwide are actively encouraged to take part in activities that matter to them by using up to three paid volunteering days every year. That includes our senior leaders too. At our recent Global Leadership Conference, around 70 of our senior leaders discovered how it feels to swap their office attire and laptops for overalls and shovels when they went to help the volunteering team at Aldenham Country Park. This not-for-profit volunteer-led organisation advocates sustainable food production, and the team share their knowledge and skills with the local community. The volunteers work with children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health challenges on the farm, which not only helps participants to develop physical and cognitive skills but boosts their self-esteem too. The farm’s focus on people and community means that maintenance tasks can fall down the to-do list! That’s where companies like ours can play their part. Getting down to work, our leaders worked in smaller teams to tackle jobs around the farm. Together, they were able to complete more work in a day than the volunteers could get around to in a month, meaning the farm’s regular volunteers could focus their attention on the activities and people who need them the most, In this video, our leaders share how it felt to work together to create a lasting impact.     Do you remember when you first started your career? The lessons learned during that rite of passage stays with many of us to this day. We know that guiding the next generation towards those first steps and making sure they are equipped with the right skills and empowered to innovate, adapt and thrive at work is more important than ever. Apprenticeships are just one way that young people can gain real-world experience while studying for qualifications – and that’s how many young people begin their careers with us. That’s why this World Youth Skills Day, we want to celebrate the people who help to build the careers and confidence of young people throughout our Group, as everyone has a part to play, and many of our apprenticeship alumni go on to pay it forward, enjoying fulfilling careers in our Businesses.     Last week at a gathering of Spirax Group leaders, Maria Wilson, Ph.D., Group Digital Director and sponsor of our LGBTQ+ and Friends Global Colleague Network, reminded leaders of the importance of psychological safety and how, by setting the conditions, we can make sure LGBTQ+ colleagues can feel seen, safe and welcome in line with our Group Inclusion Commitments, part of Spirax Group’s Everyone is Included plan.     Maria highlighted that across the Group we have LGBTQ+ colleagues who are out and thriving, because they consider our workplaces safe, safer than their homes or communities in some instances, but she also warned that in some locations colleagues do not yet feel able to come out at work because they don't see enough visible support or experience homophobia, biphobia or transphobia in their daily lives.      Over the next few of weeks, our LGBTQ+ and Friends Global Colleague Network is hosting its first ever ‘Pride Online’. A series of five webinars, run by colleagues from across Spirax Group to help LGBTQ+ colleagues feel safe (whether they are out at work or not) as well as to help all of us understand how to be better allies, because having psychologically safe workplaces for everyone is an essential part of Spirax Group.     The LGBTQ+ and Friends Global Network is one of six such networks which aim to bring colleagues together and to help everyone, everywhere across Spirax Group feel safe, seen, supported, empowered and connected.    Discover more about our Global Colleague Networks: https://lnkd.in/eJZYw5mT
