We're pleased to support CB Mobility Support with a £2,000 grant to help their scheme providing essential mobility equipment. The service, which opened on November 1, aims to fill a gap left by the closure of Cambridge British Red Cross Mobility Aids. The volunteers hope to address an ongoing need for affordable equipment like rollators and toilet adaptions - especially for patients being discharged from hospital. https://lnkd.in/eVUwNkKw

🏡 🏘 🏠 Plans to bring more empty homes back into use in South Cambridgeshire could see Council Tax doubled on long-term vacant or second properties. The aim is to encourage people to sell or rent their properties to tackle a national housing shortfall - which is particularly acute in our district. Council estimates suggest there are around 2,640 empty homes in the district, and a further 360 second properties. Empty properties have an increased likelihood of arson, theft, damage, squatting and fly tipping. Overgrown brambles, trees, foliage and ivy can cause damage to shared fencing, roofs and gardens. Rodent and vermin infestation is also a risk, particularly if there is a readily available food source. To read the full story click the link https://lnkd.in/e-ubfM-N
