Social Value International
Civic and Social Organizations
Social Value International is the global network focused on Social Value and Impact Measurement and Management.
About us
Social Value International is the global network focused on social impact and social value. Our members share a common goal: to change the way society accounts for value. All too often key decisions about resources and policies are made using a limited economic concept of value, which fails to consider important effects on people and the environment. As the gap between rich and poor increases and the effects of climate change become more apparent, our work has never been more urgent. Social Value International works with our members to embed core principles for social value measurement and analysis, to refine and share practice, and to build a powerful movement of like-minded people to influence policy. This pioneering community contains members from 45 countries, drawn from a huge range of different sectors and disciplines. Our goal at Social Value International is to support, connect, and represent our members through training, knowledge-sharing and networking. Our Vision A world where decision making, ways of working and resource allocation are based on the principles of accounting for value leading to increased equality and well-being and reduced environmental degradation. Our Mission To change the way society accounts for value through principles, practice, people and power: Principles: Our principles will lead to the inclusion of social, environmental and economic value in decision making. People: We will build and support a network of like-minded individuals who want to work with us to put these principles into practice. Practice: We will develop guidance, tools, and support to help put the principles into practice. Power: By connecting these individuals and supporting their learning, growth and influence we will build a movement to change the way society accounts for value.

It was inspiring to see Social Value International so wonderfully represented at the recent OECD Well-being Forum by Jo Fackler, SVI’s Director of Global Affairs. Her participation highlighted the critical importance of addressing inequality and integrating well-being into policy, business, and finance agendas. It is extra-special that Jo was able to connect with Social Value Aotearoa at this session. Strengthening these relationships between SVI and its member networks is crucial for amplifying our collective impact and advancing the global social value movement. 🌍 Jo’s engagement with leaders and changemakers from organizations like the International Foundation For Valuing Impacts (IFVI), Capitals Coalition, and many others demonstrates the power of collaboration in tackling systemic challenges. 🤝 #SocialValue #Inequality #WellbeingAgenda #Collaboration #oecdwellbeingforum
Attending the OECD - OCDE Well-being Forum truly brought home the urgent need to address the issue of inequality around the world. I was left humbled and hopeful by those who are dedicated to prioritising well-being in policy, business and finance agenda. Special thanks to Siobhan Henderson and Adam Vise at Australian Unity, Tokelo Shai at the Institute for Human Rights and Business, Charmian (Char) Love at Natura &Co, Noelia (She/Her) Pacharotti at Valuing Impact, Dr. Michael Verbücheln and Francisco Ortin Cordoba at the International Foundation For Valuing Impacts (IFVI) and Natalie Nicholles, Tom McKenna and Kaija Laurila at Capitals Coalition, who all generously shared their perspectives on how they’re tackling these issues. Thank you also to Vincent Siegerink for inviting me to moderate the panel on inequality-related system-level risks and the role of the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD). What a week! Another massive highlight was meeting Jo Nicholson and the team at Social Value Aotearoa. After just a 20-minute meeting with Jo, I was brimming with ideas about how to leverage the incredible community across Social Value International, SVA and all the affiliated member networks. More on that soon! Some points that resonated with me the most (from which there were too many to choose!) 💡 “Having the licence to operate in a system of capital markets means that we have to think about our impact. We, as investors and companies, understand our moral and legal duty to hold society together.” Lynn Forester de Rothschild of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism 💡 “Wellbeing ought to be the primary goal, and we’re witnessing the worrying consequences of the disconnect between economics and wellbeing. It’s time for a fundamental shift.” Jo Swinson of the Partners for a New Economy 💡 “A good economy is one that delivers efficiency. We’ve delivered that, but ignored equity.” Subramanian Rangan at INSEAD.
