Last week, our team, alongside our partners at Royal Ballet and Opera, visited King's College London to conclude this year's Consultancy Project, as part of our ongoing partnership with the prestigious institution. The students showcased their group presentations with a high level of professionalism, detailing their research, analysis, and recommendations based on the initial brief we provided, focusing on RBO’s core marketing objectives. This milestone marked months of dedicated effort and teamwork, blending academic knowledge with practical skills to devise innovative and creative communication strategies. Throughout the term, the students: 🔬 Delved into the data sets we supplied to uncover insights and trends guiding their strategic decisions 📊 Conducted both quantitative and qualitative research, offering valuable real-world perspectives by surveying a significant number of individuals 🌆 Evaluated the competitive landscape and the brand's value proposition, identifying focal points to drive the brand's goals 📣 Proposed imaginative solutions, such as brand partnerships, competitions, pop-up events, and VR/AR experiences, alongside crafting fresh key messaging for the brand 📱 Formulated comprehensive media plans, including strategies across diverse digital platforms Both our team and RBO were highly impressed by the depth of analysis and the innovative strategies presented. Back in 1599, this was outside the city walls, but now we’re firmly in the heart of London—and last night, in the heart of eCommerce with some of the brightest agency stars who jetted in from Sweden, Dubai, Paris, Amsterdam, and 📝 er caught the train from Birmingham. 🤪 We first partnered with Yotpo in 🦘Australia, but being in the centre of the action at this event was something else. Hats off (and 👟👟 off) to Yotpo for hosting a stellar event! take a bow 🙇🏼♀️🙇🏼 Victoria Beech, Matt Brindley, Itay Vladomirsky and Beth Wells. It was brilliant to hear from Julia Smith about Puresport’s journey and the superb delivery from Lisa Rudenmark and the team at Superco - Shopify Plus Partner. I was super impressed by Head of eCommerce for PERCIVAL Menswear, Alex Harley, who told me after his talk, about their journey building an organic search asset to the extent that keywords influence fabric selection in jackets worn by celebs such as Ryan Reynolds (part-time actor turned beer baron). To me, that was music to my ears. I said to Alex "one day we're going to give you a merchant's version of our platform that does Keyword Revenue Analysis so you and whatever SEO agency you work with can really mine Organic Search and RevOps opportunities." Alex in his talk, also summed up the eCommerce manager’s checklist perfectly: “we all want to work with agencies: - at the top of their game - breaking new ground - doing stuff that's different - that others love working with - who are fast-growing themselves.” 🧐 Every partner we consider working with, I have created a new Google form at the end of our first call. I rank the partner on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is hopeless and 10 is world class). 7 was going to be my minimum, across a range of criteria, then I'm like "who wants to work with a 7". For now 8 and above only.
