The Power of Two. For the past 5 years, I've had the incredible journey of building Shakeup Cosmetics | B Corp™ with my twin brother, Shane. They say two heads are better than one, well... when you have two identical heads? It multiplies ✨ I always believed that having a cofounder is a huge benefit in any business venture. It means having someone who shares your vision, can challenge your ideas, and support you through the highs and lows, thick and thin. But when your cofounder is also your twin brother, the benefits are truly unparalleled. I thought I'd share some here: 1. Telepathic Meetings: it's true. When we were younger, we would burst out singing a particular part of a song at the same time. In business, our thinkings are 9 times out of 10 on the same wavelength, and we'd often finish each other's sentences, making our Director meetings super efficient. 2. A Built-in Support System: See, we built and ran our first business for 12 years before we launched Shakeup. For me, I can't imagine running a business with anyone else whom I can wholeheartedly trust. We know that we will always have each other's back. This level of unshakeable trust and support form a solid foundation that's essential to any founder-led businesses. 3. No mind games, no BS: We know each other as much as we know ourselves. We don't waste energy on politics, tactics, dancing around topics or tip-toeing around each other's feelings. We get straight to the point, and we get sh*t done. 4. Complementary Strengths: I am more creative, Shane is more logical. I lead Marketing, Shane is closer to the commercials and legal. We naturally complement each other’s strengths and balance out each other’s weaknesses. 5. We've been through everything together: having been born into a working class family, and against all odds we took the decision to move to the UK together at the age of 18, with £1k to our names. We managed to put ourselves through college, while working various jobs in fast food restaurant and supermarket. We dared to dream the wildest dreams even when no one else would believe it. So we know, when both of us believe in something, and work hard at something, we will make it happen. After all, so far we've had 100% success rate. :) So thanks bro, for always being there by my side (literally).
