I hope you all had a lovely summer with your families & friends. I’m slightly emotional this morning like many other households seeing two of my children attend secondary and primary school for the first time. Where does time go?! 😥 Anyway, enough of that…… Here’s my latest answer to the most consistent question I get as a recruiter in consumer – how’s the market? - Processes slowed in the summer – as expected - Many clients we’re speaking to have clear recruitment requirements for the remainder of the year - Many consumer businesses have some excellent opportunities currently such as Diageo, Valeo Foods UK, Lotus Bakeries, Suntory Global Spirits and Kenvue to name but a few - As one of the longest standing consumer dedicated recruitment firms, I think Seven’s performance often correlates with market conditions. The truth is, our performance so far in 2024 indicates a market which isn’t buoyant (especially at a senior level) but is one of consistent opportunity. Thankfully, we’re ahead of budget and up on 2023 so far. We’re expecting (and already seeing) a busy finish to the year - We have plenty of opportunities in National Accounts, Commercial Strategy, Marketing and Category currently So in summary, take confidence in the market – it’s fine. In fact its busier right now post summer holidays. There’s some great roles out there so make sure you’re happy in your role and that your employer is investing and rewarding you accordingly.
