📣CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT: We have been awarded a new four-year, $320m (£250m) contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to manage the modernisation of the back-up electrical plant at the US Space Force’s Pituffik Space Base 🚀, in Greenland 🇬🇱. Mark Irwin, Group Chief Executive of Serco, said: “This contract award builds on Serco’s strong capabilities in systems design and installation, as well as our exemplary past performance on defence construction projects. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support this large, mission-critical upgrade project for the US Space Force and Army Corps of Engineers. 📣CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT: Serco to continue to provide vital engineering support for Royal Navy helicopters for further 12 months. Serco has been awarded a contract extension to continue to provide engineering and airfield support services to the Royal Navy for a further 12 months. Serco was originally awarded the contract for the provision of Aircraft Engineering Support and Airfield Services at Royal Naval Air Stations (RNAS) Yeovilton and Culdrose following a competitive tender process in July 2020, and this award will see Serco continue to provide the services until 31 March 2026. Commenting on the contract extension, Doug Umbers, Managing Director of Serco’s Defence business, said: “Our teams at RNAS Culdrose and Yeovilton make a real impact by providing critical engineering support to help keep the Royal Navy flying 365 days a year and we are delighted to have had this contract extended by a further 12 months.” Serco employs almost 100 people across the two bases, including 22 apprentices and in the last four years 20 people have completed their apprenticeships.
