    Are you missing out on great Talent folk with jumpy CVs? One of the big tech titans just dropped 40 talent roles - are Meta and Google likely to follow? Once big tech hire back large talent teams, it sends market confidence shockwaves into the earlier stage ecosystem. That, paired with several large recent VC raises (Balderton $1.3bln!) is likely to see a flurry of exit/M & A activity which should rise all ships. There is still vast amount pent-up VC money - It’s a case of ‘use it or lose it’ from LPs right now. There have been two bust cycles in technology since Covid and around 85% of our UK VC backed technology businesses made significant cuts to their talent teams. 🦠Covid: 2020 – 2021 = wide scale redundancies 💥Boom: 2021 – 2022 = Hiring frenzy 📉Market crash, SVB implosion: 2022 – 2023 = wide scale redundancies ➡Market continues to underperform: 2023 - 2024 = further redundancies/hiring freezes 🌱Drop in interest rates & inflation: 2024 = improvement in market conditions This was amplified in the US. As the talent market starts to pick up, many would argue it's unreasonable to expect to see anything more than 18-24 months longevity on CVs, specifically in Talent. If you only consider people with longer tenures, you’re going to miss out on a huge pool of incredible talent experts who fell victim to the market conditions. What do you think? #people #talent #HR

    We attended the first Talent & Growth breakfast roundtable last week – thank you Paul Church! Elevating the Perception of HR 🤲 We discussed: 🗣️ The complexities and challenges of HR roles, particularly in balancing organisational needs with employee wellbeing, following a recent viral controversial LinkedIn post. 🗣️ The potential impact of the upcoming legislation on HR practices. Concerns were raised about psychological safety, flexibility, and the ability to hire and manage effectively. 🗣️ Performance Management.
