We Elevate... the United Kingdom and Ireland.

About us

Founded in Switzerland in 1874, the Schindler Group is a leading global provider of elevators, escalators and related services. Schindler mobility solutions move more than two billion people every day all over the world. Behind the company's success are over 69,000 employees in more than 100 countries. We shape the skyline. Lifts escalators make tall buildings liveable and large infrastructure projects accessible. Vertical transportation has allowed the steel-frame skyscraper to give new shape and substance to global cities and enables the rapid expansion of new dynamic urban areas. Increasing urbanisation will not only push horizontal limits of existing cities but their vertical boundaries as well – refashioning both their skylines and public transportation networks with the enabling power of lifts and escalators. This new way of living will only be possible with smart mobility solutions. We at Schindler UK and Ireland have the expertise and product selection to make every type of facility found in cities – and elsewhere – easily and safely accessible. In the UK, we’re over 500 people all working together to make sure our customers are able to move around safely and seamlessly. Schindler Ltd strives to be the preferred employer within our industry and within the UK and Ireland. We promote diversity and equal opportunities across all areas of recruitment and development. We believe that by developing the skills of our employees to create high levels of motivation and performance, we will allow them to reach their full potential.

  • Inspire inclusion, the 2024 International Women’s Day theme, emphasises the importance of diversity and empowerment. This got us thinking about those women at Schindler UK and Ireland who’ve progressed their career and the people who champion them. Izzy Beresford joined us as maternity cover - seven years and three promotions later and Izzy is now our Administration Manager, overseeing the existing installation admin teams along with our national customer call centre. So, what made Izzy choose to stay at Schindler? Quite simply, she felt our values – focussing on safety and people - aligned with her own, that she could see a clear path for career progression, and she loved the people she worked with. But that wasn’t all. Izzy was championed by both her line and senior manager who empowered her, trusting her experience and judgement and giving her autonomy to make the admin and call centre fit for purpose, putting the customer at the centre of the organisation. Izzy calls the admin and call centre teams the heart of the company and works to empower and grow her team in the same way that she was championed when she first joined Schindler. #Schindler #people #internationalwomensday2024 #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion #TeamSchindler

People development – it’s one of our core values and our 2022 cohort from our People Elevation Programme recently returned from Schindler headquarters in Ebikon, Switzerland where they spent time with some of our inspirational leaders, who shared their stories and valuable insights of their own leadership journeys. They also visited Schindler City – our spectacular customer showcase – where they took part in demonstrations, networked with colleagues from across the business and got a behind the scenes tour. The next event for these delegates will be their graduation where they’ll also hand over to the 2024 cohort. But their development journey doesn’t end with their graduation as they’ll also mentor and support the new cohort on their upcoming leadership journey – bringing even more experience, insights and diversity into Schindler UK and Ireland. #peopledevelopment #WeElevate Olli Köresaar, Bukky Marcinkowski, Mazen Moussallem, Mehmet YILDIZ, Paul Turner, Daisy Sen, Paul Carrick, Rosmin Paul, Jenny McGhee, Ross Fairclough, Simran Bahra, Luke Jones, Tom Black, Graham Whitehead, Maria Victoria Vico Linde, Ben Cottom

  • This week our UK and Ireland leadership team spent a day supporting The Gasworks Dock Partnership, a registered charity which acts as a vehicle for the community led regeneration of Cody Dock and other local waterways in the Lower Lea Valley. Together they took part in the restoration of dockside buildings, landscaping and repairing sections of the river wall, working to transform the dock. With the charity focussed on transforming the site from an unloved, derelict area to a vibrant community hub, we’re sure the work our leadership team carried out will serve the local community well and will help in the charity's ambition of “transforming the dock into a creative industries quarter with community gardens and footpaths – opening up the Lower Lea River for everyone.” At Schindler, we don’t just think about the bottom line - the environment and social value we add every day is just as important. Together with our customers, we shape the cities of the future by providing sustainable, smart urban mobility. Sustainability is integral to the Schindler way of doing business, defining how we work – creating value for all…it’s our commitment to society, our planet and future generations. #environment #planet #futuregenerations #codydock
