As well as delivering our biggest investment to improving our existing council homes for a generation, we're also making sure that our contractors provide important social value benefits to local people and communities. 🏘️ 👷 Champions 4 Change Wellbeing and the Samuel Montagu Youth Centre engage and empower local young people and adults through sport and wellbeing activities. 🥊⚽ They were donated a total of £3,000 from Marc Hawkins owner of Dynamic Scaffolding Services Ltd on behalf of the Wates Group. Marc, a former boxer, was keen to give back to the Greenwich community where he grew up. We love it when a plan comes together: in this case the plan is for 14 new zero carbon council homes, among 1,750 we're building across the borough for local people on our housing register. These photos show the latest progress on the development which is being built using structured insulated panels, a sustainable modern method of construction that reduces build time, disruption and emissions. As well as new homes, Barnfield Hub includes a new community hub for the use of all nearby residents.

The Council and the local arts and culture sector will work together to deliver the strategy and reach our shared vision: In 2030, the Royal Borough of Greenwich will be a place where creative people, innovation and cultural connections inspire, encourage and flourish. Supported by Arts Council England, the strategy recognises the borough’s well-established creative sector, sets out a clear plan for its long-term future and supports the Council’s carbon neutral targets.
