About us
Ride For Freedom’s SDG 8.7 aligned mission is to harness the universal appeal of cycling to raise awareness, educate and forge partnerships to end modern slavery, and to provide remedy to survivors. We do this because there are almost 50 million people worldwide enslaved and tens of thousands are exploited in the UK. Children, women and men. It is a heinous crime that needs to be eradicated. Ride For Freedom achieves its mission by creating and leading unique cycling challenge events and by partnering with high impact sports clubs, companies and aligned charities. The cycling challenges fundraise to support the development of Freewheel by Ride For Freedom, our remedial programme that empowers survivors of modern slavery to cycle. We do this by providing survivors with bikes, accessories and cycling training. The evidenced beneficial outcomes are that they gain additional independence and mobility, and improved mental and physical health and wellbeing. We welcome donations to support the development and delivery of Freewheel hubs regionally in the U.K. and globally.

The fight isn’t over until everyone is free—and for each person trapped in modern slavery, hope is a distant finish line they’re still waiting to cross. The Ride For Freedom is now a wrap! 7 days of cycling. I managed to get to 110km and am now having a well earned rest from the bike!! Speedy Hire also broke the 1200 mile barrier 😱 💪🏻 Go Speedy! and thank you to the 22 speedy colleagues who took part in this challenge. Your support has been greatly appreciated. 🚲 GET ON YER BIKE 🚲 Last week our teams from across the business took part in the Ride For Freedom event on behalf of Cycle Revolution to help raise money and awareness for modern day slavery. With a total amount of 833 miles cycled, the teams managed to raise £650 which the charity will use not just to help support victims of modern day slavery but also to purchase bikes for those affected to help them gain back their independence. 🙌 A special mention to Briggs & Forrester Building Services Maintenance team in South Normanton office who managed to complete 214 miles in one day! 📣 They were joined by some of their neighbouring businesses so a big shout out to the below for getting involved: - Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) - Purpose Media (UK) Ltd - Yappl - Special thanks to Concept2, Inc. who lent the bikes to the team for the event! 👏 Also our Regional Supply Chain Manager Sasha McGown for Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services deserves her own shout out for completing an astonishing 70 miles over the week. ⏲️ Our fastest static bike mile of the week was Stephen Parrett - Group Sustainability & Quality Coordinator, who completed a mile in 2 minutes and 27 seconds! In support of Anti-Slavery Week, the Multiplex UK team embarked on the Cycle Revolution Challenge to raise funds for Ride For Freedom. Ride for Freedom's Freewheel Programme empowers modern slavery survivors to cycle, giving them a bike and accessories to ensure they are safe and secure, as well as cycling proficiency and road awareness training, to support their physical and mental health, independence and mobility. The challenge was open to all team members and we cycled non-stop from 08:30 – 17:30!
