It was great to see how our last Finance Highlight post with Nikolai Trushnikov got people interested in what it's like to be on our Finance team. Today, Norayr Mkhitaryan, Lead Financial Controller at Revolut, tells us about the challenges of being part of this very important department. ▶️ What does it mean to be part of the Finance team? Working in finance gives me a broad perspective on the company’s activities, allowing me to see the big picture of the business and key drivers of success. It's amazing to collaborate with top talent across departments to understand how products are built while identifying risks, implementing controls, and technical accounting recommendations. When we launch, we celebrate! ▶️ What challenges do you face as a Financial Controller? One of the biggest challenges is solving complex problems in a data-driven industry like fintech. To be successful, traditional financial skills alone aren't enough. Overcoming each challenge means thinking deeper and collaborating to develop unique solutions, like building machine learning algorithms to create predictive analytics.
