  • Why do I work exclusively with one company in any sector? Pretty simple really. How can I provide the best marketing counsel to a clutch of companies all wanting the exact same thing in the exact same markets? I see companies offering a one step marketing shop in a given b2b sector - but how can they offer truly bespoke SEO, content, lead gen or PR opportunities to multiple companies wanting the same thing? This goes right back to my early agency days where it was somehow unethical to work with several clients in exactly the same field with the same offering. My longest standing client is coming up 6 years. We all want to stand out online and there are several ways purely in the status box to make your content stand out on the page before we even consider using images, video, polls etc by using the following:- - Short sentences (make your content skimmable) - Lots of white space - Sub heads - Hashtags - Emojis Some content creators even write their sentences like the bullets above, ensuring the sentences start long and go shorter! And, René was today years old when he googled "text converter for Linkedin" to unlock lots of clever ways of making your content pop.   • How much of your marketing content is promotional? I’d hazard a guess that it could be as high as 7 out of 10. Run a quick check. Look over your last ten posts - on any platform - and make a note. If it is even 5 out of 10 it means you’re focusing more on selling than building a trusted brand, helping customers and showcasing your expertise. What’s your number? Drop it in the comments. For me the actual split should be 70:30 in favour of telling stories, sharing experience and offering tips. Why? Because in most markets, upto 95% of the market aren’t ready to buy.   • A little frustrated this morning. When it comes to newsletters published by pages, LinkedIn says pages must have 150 followers and/or connections. 🙄 To combat this and put some new content out to subscribers, the first article will drop at lunchtime GMT. And hopefully, with a push on page subscribers, the newsletter will launch next week.
