Rematch - The Sporting Time Machine

🚨 Happy 50th Anniversary! 🚨 Firstly, the anniversary of the incredible Muhammad Ali and George Foreman fight in Zaire in the Rumble in the Jungle on 30th October 1974 ... SO much more than a boxing match... an iconic, political, cultural moment and maybe the first major example of #sportswashing? ... and all to the soundtrack of the phenomenal Zaire 74 music festival in the capital Kinshasa. It's also the first anniversary of our very own Rematch telling of the story - with new voices and perspectives in a whole new immersive experience. 2024 has seen us win the WXO - World Experience Organization Art award and be nominated with a ridiculous list of sports brands for the Leaders in Sport awards. In 2019, the Wimbledon 1980  🎾 experience proved the concept. In 2023, the #RumbleintheJungle 🥊 3 month run in London proved that critics love the format, sports fans would come to theatre, theatre fans would come to sport storues and so we've succeeded in our goal to connect generations and communities. Oh, and we also created a valuable platform for brands. What next? ✈ 🚌 First thing is to remount the show and we're working hard to take it on tour. It's been a year since we premiered the Rumble in the Jungle Rematch show - the first of 78 performances - with ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ reviews and awesome reaction from our diverse audiences. We won the Art category at the WXO - World Experience Organization awards a few months back and 🚨 🚨 🚨 now we've been nominated for the Leaders in Sport awards in the Entertainment Experience category. We're delighted to be considered alongside the likes of The Ryder Cup, Football Australia and the Brooklyn Nets ... we're a bit different but that's what you get when you innovate! Thanks, as always, to all the creators and all the audiences. Oh, and yes, we're working on remounting Rumble AND on developing the next experience... The WXO - World Experience Organization hosted their inaugural awards ceremony in New York City on Weds 12th June. With over 165 entries, Rematch - The Sporting Time Machine were selected as one of the 26 finalists, and better yet one of the 5 winners!
