This is a fantastic grant delivered by the Red Eagle Foundation. Josh is a 16 year-old who has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. He cannot access any regular mode of independent travel and the family have tried various things over the years- trikes, bikes, scooters etc... They then came across the Swin-car! This vehicle enables independent travel and is particularly useful on places where there is awkward terrain enabling Josh to visit places that normally would not be possible with his peers. This concept of natural pendulum balance – ensuring that the nacelle body pod remains in the same plane as forces applied – opens endless possibilities for outdoor recreation, and personal mobility. The manufactures have already had the vehicle approved for road use in the EU and are in talks with the DVLA to get it approved here too which would be brilliant for Josh. As Josh’s Dad is also the Assistant commissioner of Kent Scouts, this vehicle is also used on occasion to help disabled children across the county to attend scout events held in woods, near mountains etc so they can take part. A huge thank you to everyone that came along to our Celebrity Golf Day with England legend Stuart ‘Psycho’ Pearce last week which raised £16,000 for the Red Eagle Foundation. Stuart told some funny and inspiring stories from his illustrious career and had our guests hanging on his every word. A special mention to our sponsors Total Power Group Limited and Barclays who helped shape such a great day. The course at The Shire London. was in fantastic condition considering the rain and Aaron James once again entertained the players during dinner brilliantly. A big thank you to our patron and huge supporter Scott Minto for conducting the Q&A. Our Red Eagle Foundation golf days have raised over £90,000 alone this year, so thanks for your brilliant support! We helped out a school recently by providing their special needs unit a sensory swing. You are most welcome :) Below is the reaction of Monika from the Wyvern school to our help.
