Last Thursday, some of us swapped Zoom calls for a real life meet up, as we gathered in (surprisingly) sunny Leeds for an epic Creative Away Day 💡 Here's a snapshot of our day: 🍝 🎸 We kicked off by building spaghetti towers and forming digital marketing rock bands. Watch out for "Linkrd Skynyrd" topping the charts with "B2Beyoncé"! 🧠 Our team dove into powerful ideation techniques like cross-pollination and question-storming, equipping them with new tools to generate out-of-the-box campaign ideas. 🔎 We explored the art of FOI campaigns and reactive PR, discussing strategies to turn current events into impactful stories for our clients. 🛠️ Through "constructive deconstruction," we learned to elevate campaign concepts by analysing both successes and challenges in each one. But the highlight of our day was our EPIC Awards 🏆 We rewarded some Rebootians for each of our core values, plus we had an all-around EPIC people's choice winner which went to Victoria Affleck 🌟

👻 Which UK University is the Most Haunted? 🎓 As students settle into their classes, we can’t help but ask: are they haunted by more than just assignments? For our latest campaign, we delved into the data to uncover the most haunted universities in the UK. Here’s how we did it: 🕷️ Our Spooky Methodology 🕷️ 🔍 With Halloween approaching, we were curious to see which universities are steeped in ghostly legends. 📍 We gathered a list of universities and mapped their main campus locations. 📈 We assigned higher scores to older institutions based on their founding years. 🏛️ We found all listed buildings and calculated their average age. 🔍 We analysed nearby haunted locations using Paul Lee’s UK Haunted Locations Database. 🧟♀️ We counted cemeteries in the radius and estimated gravestone totals using Find a Grave data. 🌐 We applied advanced geospatial analytics techniques to create a 2-mile radius around each campus. 👻 We spatially joined the number of cemeteries, hauntings, and listed buildings within each campus's 2-mile radius. We pulled together all these variables to calculate a "creepy score" to rank each university! 🎃 It’s scary what we can do with Data, isn't it? 😉

Did you know FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) can influence decision-making? When faced with a time-sensitive offer or deadline, people experience anxiety about potentially missing out on an opportunity. During the peak season, brands will capitalise on this opportunity to drive conversions. Our Paid Media team has compiled effective strategies to help you leverage urgency and scarcity this season. 👇 ⏳ Limited Time Offers: Use countdown timers in your ads and landing pages to create a visual reminder of the deadline. ❌ Low Stock Alerts: When possible sync real-time inventory with your ads, or manually insert these in the ad copy. 🙀 Fear Of Missing Out: Leverage FOMO by showcasing what others are buying or by emphasising the popularity of the product. For example, include messaging like “X amount of products bought in the last 24hours” or “Our most loved product”. 🛑 Shipping Cutoffs For Christmas: Create urgency by reminding customers of deadlines for delivery dates before Christmas. This will help not only to drive more sales but also from a logistics standpoint. 📣 Use Strong CTAs: Pair a strong CTA with scarcity indicators such as "limited stock" to drive more immediate action.

Who else is excited to welcome autumn and cozy up with a pumpkin spice latte? 🎃☕️ Here, many of Rebootians absolutely love autumn - or fall, as some of our friends across the pond call it! But what truly makes a place special during autumn? 🍁 Of course, the gorgeous, vibrant orange foliage is a major draw! Inspired by that, our Data team deep-dived into which US states maintain that magical peak autumn foliage the longest throughout October. To uncover the answer, we turned to the Fall Foliage Map from SmokyMountains. Here's the cool part: 🔍 We gathered daily map polygons for every single day in October. 🔢 We then quantified the percentage of the month each state spends at peak foliage, capturing and analysing the progression of the fall season across states. There are plenty of wonderful states in which to enjoy autumn in all its glory, like Pennsylvania and Maine, but there's no question that Vermont reigns supreme for those in search of stick season! 🍂 Where's your favourite autumn spot here in the UK?
