Looking for a fun coding activity for your kids this weekend? In this project, your kids will use #HTML and #CSS to create a mood board webpage for a real or imaginary project 🎨 They could make a mood board to redesign their bedroom or to represent a fashion item, party, or website. Alternatively, their mood board could be a reminder of all the things that make them happy 🌻 Get started: rpf.io/mood-board #LearnToCode #CodingForKids #Coding #STEM

A charity that enables young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing
About us
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies. Our vision Our vision is that every young person develops: • The knowledge, skills, and confidence to use computers and digital technologies effectively in their work, community, and personal life; to solve problems and to express themselves creatively • Sufficient understanding of societal and ethical issues to be able to critically evaluate digital technologies and their application, and to design and use technology for good • The mindsets that enable them to confidently engage with technological change and to continue learning about new and emerging technologies Our long-term goals 1. Education: To enable any school to teach students about computing and how to create with digital technologies, through providing the best possible curriculum, resources, and training for teachers. 2. Non-formal learning: To engage millions of young people in learning about computing and how to create with digital technologies outside of school, through online resources and apps, clubs, competitions, and partnerships with youth organisations. 3. Research: To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

What happens when a group of computing teachers and a clutch of researchers get together to talk about generative AI and what it means for computing teachers for a few months? Well it's THIS - v1 of Using generative AI in the classroom: A guide for computing teachers. https://lnkd.in/e5cRtWFW This is a 25-page document designed to help you hopefully see the wood for the trees if you want to start using generative AI in your computing teaching or more generally in your school. Scroll down for the link to the PDF - and do download this and share with your colleagues. It's written with computing teachers in the UK in mind, but will hopefully have some applicability if you are a teacher anywhere in the world. Note: (i) it's a v1 because generative AI is changing all the time and these things soon date, and (ii) we hope it sits in a happy ecosystem with lots of other resources out there that complement it. The guidance document is written by teachers, with teachers, and for teachers, and we hope it will be useful to you now and in the coming academic year. Happy holidays! Senior Learning Manager at Raspberry Pi Foundation currently working on creating AI educational resources in collaboration with Google DeepMind
Arrived at Las Vegas last night ahead of the fantastic #CSTA2024 conference. I'll be talking about the work we've been doing over the past two years on AI literacy education at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Come and hear about the design principles that are important to consider when delivering AI literacy education to young people as well as a free set of classroom resources to help you get started. I'll be talking on Wednesday 17th at 1pm (Forum ballroom 116-117) . I'll also be at Booth 518 with my amazing colleagues to talk about all things Raspberry Pi. Strong rumour that there maybe even be classroom posters and stickers being given out

How should we teach debugging to #Secondary school students? Tomorrow's free online research seminar will be presented by Laurie Gale from the Raspberry Pi Computing Education Research Centre. We hope those attending will gain valuable strategies for teaching this essential skill and have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on how to make debugging a positive and productive part of learning to code. Date: 16 July 2024 Time: 17:00 BST (12:00 EDT / 9:00 PDT / 18:00 CEST) Sign up: rpf.io/rpfseminars We'll send you a link to join us on the day. #RPFSeminars #CSEdResearch #Computing #Education
