We had the privilege of speaking with RAF veterans and RAF Association members Craig and Sharon Brooke, who since leaving the RAF emigrated to Australia but have made the 9,000+ miles trip back to the UK with their family to take part in the parade at Cenotaph for Remembrance Day. "Remembrance is important to both of us as it gives us time to pause and reflect on how lucky we are to have been able to serve our country for so many years, and live the lives that we have. It gives us the chance to remember those no longer with us. I personally lost a couple of people on Operations that I worked with, so I feel it is important to remember them. It also gives us chance to remember those people still with us, but not able to parade on Remembrance Day for whatever reason."

We recognise that being part of the RAF community sometimes places a strain on everyday life. Whether you’re a veteran, the family member of someone serving, or a member of the supporting community, such as a contractor working on an RAF station, we all need a little help from time to time. The RAF Association is offering free mental wellbeing courses for non-serving members of the RAF community. We’ll help you to see things differently and learn practical steps to tackle some of the challenges you or your loved ones may face. We are running face to face courses in Lossiemouth on November 12 and 13, if you would like to attend you can register at: https://rafauk.org/3YslYiB
