During the last visit of the Italian delegation led by Deputy Chief of the “Strategic Direction and Military Cooperation” Department of the Italian Defense General Staff, Major General Alessandro Grassano to Somalia, they were welcomed at the headquarters of the Somali Armed Forces to enhance the military cooperation between the two countries. We had the honor to host them for lunch at our hotel ,The Kiwano, where their visit highlighted our commitment to excellence and high-quality services we provide in remote areas. At RA, sustainability is at the core of our operations. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and improving efficiency across all areas of our business. We achieved a nearly 50% reduction in water and power consumption for our laundry services in Somalia by implementing several key changes. First, we upgraded the facility from inefficient, top-loading washers paired with low-speed 100G hard-mount equipment to advanced, high-speed front-loading soft-mount machines. The new 400G spin cycle significantly reduces drying time, resulting in substantial energy savings. Additionally, the improved washing action of these machines ensures a deeper clean while providing better care for laundered items. Furthermore, we introduced a sanitized water reuse process that recycles 50% of the water used in each cycle, retaining it in a pre-heated state to further reduce heating energy. By bringing world-class sustainability solutions to one of the most challenging environments in Mogadishu, Somalia, we are setting a new standard.
