The Purpose Coalition

This week, I had the incredible opportunity to present as part of the The Purpose Coalition “Purpose Lab” to their student ambassadors. It is not till you look back on your journey so far and the timeline of your career, that you appreciate the journey you’ve been on and find it both humbling and inspiring. My journey began with struggles in reading and writing during school, but with the support of an amazing network, I persevered. I was the first in my family to pass all my GCSEs, go to college. After completing my A-levels, I ventured into university, where I graduated with a BA Hons in Media & Communication. It wasn't until my official dyslexia diagnosis at 19 that the puzzle pieces of my struggles began to fit together, fueling my determination to succeed. I was the first in my family to go to college and go to university too. My career path has been a remarkable adventure, starting as a call center agent, as a stopgap after studying, to then progress through account management, project management, quality assurance, and client success. Each role has taught me invaluable lessons and shaped my professional identity. Today, I am honoured to serve as the Regional VP for Employee Experience, covering the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria. This journey has truly been and is fabulous! As I shared these insights with the student ambassadors, my hope was to inspire their students to embrace their own journeys—reminding them that it's never too late to change direction, embrace change and pursue their dreams, after all there are endless possibilities! 🚀✨ Thank you Danny Davis and The Purpose Coalition for the opportunity and giving me a moment of reflection, super excited for the next workshops. #CareerJourney #PurposeLab #StudentAmbassadors #DiversityandInclusion #MindsetMatters

🤩 We’re excited to share the Breaking Down Barriers in Rail Impact Report in partnership with Lumo & Hull Trains!   🚊🌱 As open-access rail providers, Lumo and Hull Trains are transforming the passenger experience. Lumo's all-electric fleet connects London and Edinburgh with eco-friendly travel, while Hull Trains links the Humber region to essential long-distance services to and from the capital 🚉💂   Beyond just moving people, these operators are driving social mobility, economic growth, and environmental progress. 🤩Very exciting to see Northumberland / the North East getting the attention it deserves! For those of us lucky enough to call it home, we’ve known about our incredible beaches, stunning landscapes and rich history – but it still surprises me when I meet people who don’t realise we even have beaches! The opening of the new Northumberland railway line, operated by The Purpose Coalition member Northern is a game-changer for the region, keep an eye out for more on that coming soon. It will not only improve connections between Newcastle and the coast, but also open up this incredible part of the UK to so many more people. (Biased but true!!) Connectivity is key to unlocking opportunities, and this new line will help bridge the gap to opportunities that have previously been physically unreachable for many.
