Uniting creative communities.

About us

Design education is no longer fit for purpose. People aren’t being prepared for professional life and businesses are in desperate need of better candidates. A radical alternative has never been needed more. Our mission is to build a platform that bridges the gap by working in collaboration with best–in–class companies to power the change that’s needed. We are focused on developing content that shares the processes used by freelancers, founders and teams. Our approach will shatter barriers, unlock potential and create accessible opportunities for all –irrelevant of age, ability and background. We will create content that addresses the skills needed. We will move forward with agility to answer the needs of industry. We will unite global communities and deliver a new form of education, one that empowers people to enter professional life with renewed energy and excitement. However, we cannot do this alone. We want to bring you with us and work hand–in–hand with organisations that share our values. Collective learning is how we will tackle the issue and by revealing the processes used we believe it is possible to develop a bright future for all. We are now committed to shattering those barriers by sharing with you the processes used by freelancers, founders and teams. Our in-person events will invite a curated collection of participants to walk you through their working methods so that you can learn from real world insight, experience and knowledge. Beyond this our ultimate aim is to unite regional communities and connect disciplines including designers, writers, developers, illustrators, strategists, photographers, animators and so many more. We truly believe in collective learning and strongly feel that long–term planning that's hooked around a series of physical experiences will allow us to slowly develop a platform that provides opportunities for all to succeed.

I recently joined my friend and fellow designer Ryan Gerrard at Joshua Brooks for Process Events and it did not disappoint. The venue housed an evening that celebrated the creative process with speakers like Matt Lewis (The Modern World) and Joe Bembridge & Charlie Hurst (Brandon Consultants) the talks offered a refreshing perspective that was incredibly motivating. It was a great reminder that creativity doesn’t just happen in studios; it thrives in unexpected spaces. I’m already looking forward to the next event! #DesignProcess #CreativeCommunity #ManchesterDesignScene

  • Matt Lewis’s talk was exactly what we love to see at Process, hearing his story and the way he approaches design was truly inspiring. What stood out the most was his insight into the design process within the music industry, designing what he likes, exploring different techniques, and, most importantly, having fun with it. It’s a reminder that design should be an enjoyable, creative process, not just about ticking boxes or meeting deadlines. Matt’s passion for experimenting and pushing boundaries is what makes great design happen, it’s that sense of play and exploration that reminds us all why we fell in love with this industry in the first place. This is what Process is all about, sharing stories like Matt’s, inspiring others, and celebrating the joy of design. Let’s keep that energy going.

I was back in the booth last night at Joshua Brooks for Process Events. But this time behind the mic instead of the decks talking all things The Modern World, our journey so far and our brand building process. Was great to share the stage with Joe and Charlie from Brandon Consultants and hear their story. Not to mention busting out the worm 👀 Big thanks again to Chris, Max and Peter for having me. See you at the next one 🙌 Jenny Lewis Rick Raby

  • Absolutely love this! Process was inspired by the raw energy of the music and creative industries coming together, and our first venue, Joshua Brooks in Manchester, perfectly captured that vibe. Joshua Brooks, located on Princess Street, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1993. It quickly became one of Manchester’s iconic venues, hosting legendary acts like the Chemical Brothers (then known as the Dust Brothers) during their first residency. The venue itself is named after Joshua Brookes, an eccentric Anglican clergyman and chaplain of Manchester’s Collegiate Church, whose influence left its mark on the city’s history. What we love about Joshua Brooks is its dark, grungy, stripped-back aesthetic — exposed brickwork, an industrial edge, and a raw authenticity that feels both creative and real. It’s the perfect setting for Process, where we celebrate the rawness and honesty of the creative process. That’s why we decided to place our speakers in the DJ booth. It’s unique, it’s bold, and it reflects the atmosphere of Joshua Brooks. This isn’t just another design talk — it’s about bringing creativity into spaces with energy, grit, and a sense of history. It’s all about blending the old with the new, the raw with the refined, and creating a space where ideas can flow. Joshua Brooks is more than just a venue; it’s part of Manchester’s creative heartbeat, and we’re so proud to have started Process here.

  • What a Year – This is a Celebration of You! Since we launched Process Events in March this year, it’s been nothing short of incredible. Together, we’ve created a space where designers, founders, freelancers, and students can connect, share, and grow as a community. Here’s what we’ve accomplished in this year.. - 4 events in Manchester - 1 event in Leeds - 1 event in Sheffield - 1 event in Berlin - 100's of conversations with different areas From local connections to international conversations, every single event has been about YOU, the community. This wouldn’t be possible without the energy, creativity, and support you bring to each gathering. We’re not stopping here. We’ve already got a packed schedule lined up for 2025, and we’re working on new ideas to make these events even better. More conversations, more inspiration, and more ways to unite the creative community. Thank you to everyone who’s attended, supported, and believed in what we’re building. This is just the beginning, and we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to what we’ve built together in 2024 and what’s coming next in 2025! 🎉
