Last week we were thrilled to have many of our colleagues gather at Solar House for the first harvest of our Square Mile Farms office farm. It was fantastic to learn more about the farm tower and see the urban farmer harvesting basil, with everyone having the chance to take some fresh produce away (as well as recipes to try at home, such as pesto and basil butter) so it was a really worthwhile session. We want our team’s involvement in naming the tower and have received so many suggestions... A huge thank you to our colleagues; Valeria Mazillo, Natalija Dutkus, Luisa Vera and Vladimir Prisacariu for their invaluable contribution last week at Richard House Children's Hospice - Principle’s charity partner - where they tidied and maintained the garden to ensure children and their families can enjoy this. We are also delighted to hear that you all really enjoyed the day and here is some incredible feedback from Valeria: “Yesterday was a fantastic day. From the moment we walked in we could feel the warmth, dedication and enthusiasm of everyone working at Richard’s House. We felt very welcomed. We worked tirelessly to make the most out of those hours, but it felt amazing to give our time to support not just the children but everyone involved. The staff were constantly checking on us, making sure that we were safe. I wish we could have done more. It was a mix of emotions, including overwhelming, humbling and accomplishment. It showed the importance of  different backgrounds, cultures and boroughs all coming together to look after this place. Last week, across the water from Paris, a whole new realm of Olympic level ability and competition was taking place at Solar House in Principle's Office Olympics. From intense rounds of Office Basketball and the precision of Pencil Javelin to the fiercely competitive Rubber Band Archery and the art of Noodle Fencing, the attention and skill shown by our teams was impressive! After the games, some much-needed pizza was enjoyed and our top performers were awarded. We're always keen to explore new ways to support the incredible work of Richard House Children's Hospice, and so it was a pleasure for Principle's Chairman and Founder, Douglas Cooke and Managing Director of Operations, Lilia Lamberto to meet with fellow partners of the charity at the Richard House Club 50 event. The evening was filled with inspiration and we are forever amazed at the level and abundance of care and support given to more than 300 children and their families across East London by Richard House. #charity #fundraising #ESG #partnerships #networking
