Community resilience is being significantly impacted by cancer, families need help to navigate this when a loved one is diagnosed (and treated). The Lewis Foundation UK was one of our ecosystem's first wave of charities looking to scale their extraordinary support. TFL are there for those battling cancer, and their families too. #socialvalue #resilientcommunities #plugginecosystem

Last year we spotlighted charities in #miltonkeynes within the #thamesvalley region... We represent communities across the UK. Alongside our business, public procurement and civic university members, our charities & social enterprise membership is vital to the impact achieved within our ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/eDWH4Qqe

His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary Andy Cooke features in Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw's latest update. For us, this shows how communities are facing real uncertainty in terms of the funding of local policing and the impact on how we develop community safety - applicable everywhere. One of the reasons why our ecosystem exists, is to help both Commissioner and Chief Constable in each county to work closer with the provisions led by communities that already build safety from within.... without being asked for funding! #socialvalue #socialvalueecosystem https://lnkd.in/dQeRqBvH

Funding for youth work services has fallen by more than 60% since 2014. Significant reductions in UK provision are linked to the huge rise in anti-social behaviour and young people's involvement in crime, according to government research commissioned in March 2024. We all know about the "empty Treasury pot". Which is why we've increased our public procurement collaboration activities, regionally creating new #socialvalueeconomies. Our ecosystem uses these collaborations to nurture social economies connected to public contracting, which flow into charities & social enterprises who deploy youth work to “reach more vulnerable, disadvantaged or marginalised young people”. We're facilitating relationships which are making youth provisions “more specialist and more reactive to address issues of crime, gangs or anti-social behaviour”. https://lnkd.in/ebRbWwf5 Well it's half way through 2024, we're steaming ahead and disrupting. Here's an insight into how UK communities and our ecosystem are now supporting public contracting by locking social value from inside each county. #socialvalue #impact #ROI

As we continue to expand our regional collaborations with public procurement to help all suppliers connect their social value into the many localised activities building safer communities, knife crime remains high on everyone's list of fears... A recent survey highlighted by the BBC News found hundreds of teenagers saying loud and clear that they are concerned about knife crime in their everyday lives. In a survey of 2,000 young people aged 13-18, nearly half (46%) said they were worried about knife crime in their local area and 31% in their school. #socialvalue is a contribution to local activities, the more of it we can connect-into our charity and social enterprise members, the more sustainable their impact upon prevention of serious violence. https://lnkd.in/eyXCfpFy

A big ecosystem welcome to another Sport in Communities member; The Albion Foundation. Albion Foundation are one of the club community organisations (CCO) from EFL Trust coming in for ecosystem support through social value; as part of our core impact objective; building healthier, safer and more resilient communities. Our ecosystem is now supporting EFL Trust CCOs and England Boxing Ltd community clubs to sustain their existing impact deep inside communities; collaborating alongside business suppliers to police, councils, fire and criminal justice. #socialvalue
