    It’s been four months since our London HQ moved to Farringdon. In that time we’ve welcomed plenty of new faces through our doors. Most recently we had the pleasure of hosting Team Speedo International Ltd athlete Tatjana Smith. Fresh off the back of swimming her final competitive races, Tatjana was interviewed by Speedo’s very own Olympian Georgia Davies OLY. The pair delved into swimming in the spotlight, talking about how to stay motivated and the sacrifices that come with it. Following Tatjana’s retirement from competitive swimming, the pair also spoke about Tatjana’s ideas on what’s next, which heavily features her passion for making swimming more accessible for women in South Africa. Tatjana is a 2x Olympic champion, once in the 100m breaststroke and once in the 200m breaststroke. She also has a silver medal in each discipline! With a total of 4 medals, she is South Africa’s most decorated Olympian. Those who were lucky enough to attend the event in person were able to hold Tatjana’s medals from the 2024 Olympic games. The interview was insightful, inspiring and heartwarming. Thank you Tatjana for joining us and being such a wonderful guest.

    The much-anticipated Kickers x MAINS London collaboration was debuted on the runway on 16th September, as part of the MAINS London Season 2 showcase at London Fashion Week. The show marks the start of the Kick Hi’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The collab features Skepta and Mike Pearce's take on the iconic Kick Hi, and introduces a new Kick Mule, which was described by New Wave Mag as “the real showstopper.” The Kick Mule reinterprets the classic boot into a luxury slip on with premium soft leather and faux fur details, as well as the Kickers and MAINS logos on the iconic fleurette, quarter tabs, and aglets.     ellesse has just revealed the campaign for their LSR sneaker, the brand’s luxe new offering which dropped last week. Marking a step into the luxury fashion space, the LSR is an elevated new sneaker design rooted in ellesse’s archives and rich history as a long-standing Italian sports fashion brand. The launch of the LSR is accompanied by a campaign featuring model Kit Price, DJ Fiona Zanetti, and content creator D’nieccio, establishing ellesse’s move into the luxury space through the idea that a moment of escape is a luxury. Celebrating ellesse’s 65th anniversary, the LSR is rooted in the brand’s legacy within sports fashion yet elevated for a modern wardrobe. Inspired by the archive and reimagined for today, the overarching design concept of ellesse’s LSR is derived from one of the brand’s archived pieces: the iconic LASER shoe. The LSR is available now in stores and at selected retailers, and will be available on the ellesse website from the 26th September.     Mitre Sports has once again teamed up with iconic tabletop football game Subbuteo for a limited-edition drop and a big dose of football nostalgia. The new collab sees the pair launch iconic minis as well as a full-size ball. With only 300 produced, the Mitre x Subbuteo Delta is a limited-edition 18-panel ball, brought up to the modern day with thermally bonded seams for zero water uptake and supreme durability. The classic black and white colour palette is a nod to the Subbuteo brand which pairs Simon Rowe, Senior Vice President of Mitre & Global Sports Marketing at Pentland Brands, said: “This is a collaboration that just makes total sense. We know Subbuteo is a big part of football fans’ childhoods and as a brand we have a history with the game that goes way back to the nineties, so this latest collab is epic! “Football culture is so important to everything we believe in at Mitre, in all its forms.     Last week Berghaus Ltd hosted their first ever innovation hackathon! Talented students from across the world were invited to our London HQ to tackle a real problem that consumers face in the outdoors, alongside our design and innovation teams. Hackathons bring people together from different disciplines to collaborate and solve a problem. Excitingly, those who attended ours came from backgrounds spanning material science, to fashion design and engineering- inviting diverse perspectives on the problem faced. Innovation lies at the heart of our strategy. Hosting a hackathon provided the perfect opportunity to think outside the box on how we can meet our consumers’ needs. We were able to bring in external perspectives, pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible. The three-day event included talks from world champion triathlete Eilidah Prise and WGSN's Head of Materials Helen Palmer. Dr Tom Allen from Metamaterials Network and The Manchester Metropolitan University was also invited to speak, providing an exciting new outlook on the use of materials and piquing the curiosity of our hackers. Over the course of the hackathon, the attendees were put into teams, came up with ideas, had them critiqued by a panel of experts and were encouraged to try new directions. At the end of the hackathon, each team presented their ideas. A massive thank you to everyone who helped to organise the event, participated, spoke and gave up their time to judge. It was a huge success and would not have been possible without you all. This Hackathon won’t be our last, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested in getting involved in future innovation opportunities!

    Canterbury has unveiled their limited-edition Ireland kit, celebrating 150 years of rugby in Ireland. Packaged in a commemorative anniversary box when purchased from Intersport Elverys, the exclusive kit pays homage to the history of Irish international rugby, with the classic design taking inspiration from 1875. The large white collar and bold crest creates a vintage aesthetic, bringing an old classic back to life. “The 150th anniversary of Rugby in Ireland is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, and we’re excited to offer fans a unique way to be part of this historic moment. This limited-edition kit not only honors the legacy of Irish rugby with a design inspired by the original 1875 jersey but also incorporates the latest performance technology for today’s game.     We’re two thirds of the way through the year, and it’s been a busy one for our brands. Here are some of the highlights from the past few months… Berghaus Ltd climbed above the competition with the release of their Freeflow backpack, Canterbury stormed ahead of the competition with their Speed Elite Stampede boot, Speedo International Ltd went for gold with their biggest campaign yet, ellesse headed in a new direction with their Racket Club collection, Kickers went from the main stage at festivals to the school playground, Mitre Sports were truly in a different league during the FA cup Endura earned B Corp status and said Aye y’can (but more on that later…). We’re all excited to see what our brands do in the final 3 months of 2024.
