You might have heard Villahermosa referred to as the ‘Energy City of Mexico’ – ever wondered why? 💡 Following a rich history dating back hundreds of years, the 20th century saw Villahermosa become a hub for oil and gas operations in Mexico due to its wealth of natural resources, including the Ogarro Oil Field. Now, it’s the Tabasco region’s main industrial city and a major global hub for hydrocarbon production, with a growing economy fueled by the energy sector. 2024 marks ten years since the opening of Penspen’s headquarters in Villahermosa, building on our mission to engineer the future of energy in the region and beyond. To mark the occasion, we’ve put together a timeline of key moments throughout the last decade at our Villahermosa base, from a first-of-its-kind diploma partnership with Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco to local reforestation programs in the Villahermosa community.
