If you're aware of the recent St James's Place scandal, you will know that one of the biggest issues was the annual management charge for a service that was never provided. With that in mind, what are annual management charges and how do you know when you've been unfairly charged (like in the case of SJP clients)? Annual management charges are typically charged on a yearly basis, and are meant to cover updating the client's circumstances and considering whether or not the investment needs to be rebalanced. However, many SJP clients and other customers will unknowingly pay these fees without ever hearing from their pension advisor. This is when the conversation around compensation can be opened. If you pay any annual fees to a pension advisor or company, this payment should be reflected in the services you receive. If there is a discrepancy, then it's recommended that you get in touch with us. ☎️ 0800 014 8275 📧 [email protected] #stjamessplace #charges #pensions

Around 33% of UK pensions have been missold. But who are scammers and bad advisors actively looking to target? Most bad advisors will position themselves as experts, and will look to confuse customers by promising great returns - all the while shutting down uncertainties with vague details. They pray on people who overlook the "too good to be true" adage and make people feel comfortable at the prospect of switching their pension - even without understanding the risks. ➡️ The best way to protect yourself and your savings is by hanging up when a cold caller gets in touch. Worried about being rude to someone with good intentions? Remember that reputable advisors will rarely call without good reason - and will understand if you put the phone down to protect yourself. #pensionjustice #pensions #savings

Top Reasons why St James's Place clients are seeking compensation: 🔹 Clients were continually charged annual management charges for a service they didn't receive. 🔹 Clients reported a lack of transparency over how fees were calculated. 🔹 Clients were charged high exit fees for moving their pension and savings away from SJP. 🔹 Advisors were limited to offering SJP products only, rather than having access to the whole of the market. 🔹 Recommended funds have performed badly and lost clients money. If you're an SJP client and are concerned about your own pension, get in touch with us via our dedicated contact page: https://lnkd.in/exMy8XjU #pensions #investments #StJamessPlace

A comprehensive review from a recent client, who overlooked his dwindling pension until it was (almost) too late - before finally getting in touch with us for advice. "I would highly recommend Pension Justice. The help and advice along with reclaiming my pension I will be forever thankful. Paul Higgins first spoke with me more than 2 years ago. I was very sceptical as what was a large pot had dwindled to half its value over 10 Years. Each year The SIPP was sending me statements that another £1000 had been paid in fees. After a meeting with Paul I agreed with him, I should have acted sooner to limit the losses. Although there is a fee, I believe in paying for a service. Paul, Alison and the team have always been professional and kept me up to date with my case and have now closed my case and sent me my funds. They have now let me know that clause 27 is ongoing and are still tirelessly working with the courts to further claim back lost revenue from my pension pot. Do not wait as pensions are being missold every day and are dwindling in SIPPs. I would not hesitate to recommend Pension Justice to work on your behalf." Thank you Geoffrey for trusting us and for sharing your story. 🙏🏼 #Pensions #Investments #Savings

How do we keep in contact with our clients? 📧 📞 We understand how dubious our clients are when they receive unexpected calls. After all, in many cases it was an unexpected call that led to them losing their pension. That's why, when it comes to keeping our clients informed, we can keep in touch via phone call, emails, or posted letters. You simply need to let us know your preference and we will do our best to honour it. #pensionjustice #pension #investments

Today's case study draws attention to old advice and the impact it can have years down the line. Back in 2021, we acted for the widow of a late pension investor. Our client's late husband had received a call back in 2012 offering a free pension review - which the gentleman accepted. The advice he received included transferring his pension to a SIPP with Berkeley Burke, and investing in storage pods. A total of £33,570 was transferred into these storage pods. Ultimately, the investment failed and all the money invested was lost - meaning the gentleman unfortunately passed away with no pension to his name. His widow got in touch with us years later, working with our team to receive a settlement of £34,064 in compensation. The claim was made against Berkeley Burke, who had allowed the transaction to go ahead despite the fact that the advisor on the phone was not regulated by the FCA. If your pension has been impacted by old advice, it's never too late to reach out to us for help. ☎️ 0800 014 8275 📧 [email protected] #PensionJustice #Pensions #Investments

Direct from the Chanel 5 bulletin that we helped to create back in 2022, here are three of the most common reasons why savers are tricked into losing their pension... 1️⃣ Websites that look legitimate 2️⃣ The promise of high returns 3️⃣ Cold callers who sound trustworthy Just because they talk the talk, doesn't mean they walk the walk. There's a lot more to a good and safe investment than a solid website and reputable salesperson. If you receive a call sharing advice you're not 100% sure about, the best thing to do is ignore it. Better safe than sorry! #Retirement #Pensions #Investments

Our appearance on Channel 5's news bulletin may be 2 years old, but the advice provided is more relevant now than ever before. Watch the full video here or read our round-up of the advice provided in the bulletin below: https://lnkd.in/e3rgZd2z 🔹 Anyone who is concerned about advice they have received can complain directly to the advising firm or to the Financial Ombudsman Service. 🔹 If advice sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. 🔹 If you get into a conversation and are promised high returns, be wary - and don't be afraid to put the phone down. The stats regarding pension scams are worrying for savers - which is why being vigilent is so important. Tag other savers in the comments to share this advice with friends and family members. #Pensions #Savings #Investments
