Your pension is so much more than just a pot of money. Here's how we helped a recent client to restore his savings - and his chance of retirement - earlier this year. "After being unable to contact my Pension company, i contacted Paul Higgins of Pension Justice to see if they could help with my Pension. After sorting out the paper work from my pension company & discussing it with Paul, Pension Justice went to work & built a case against my pension company, & sent this to the FSCS. While this process was going on Pension Justice kept me informed with the process, not only did Pension Justice get my money back but they got a bonus included for me. I can not thank Pension Justice enough for the result, if you find yourself in my position, Pension Justice are the go to people to sort it out. Again thank you Paul & team for giving me my retirement back." If you have suspicions that your pension company is not acting in your best interests, get in touch to see if we can help. As the SJP case has proven these past few months, sometimes savers are eligible for compensation even if there's no direct scam involved. #PensionJustice #Pensions #Retirement

5 Common Pension Scams (according to the FCA) The Financial Conduct Authority regularly shares updates on commonly used scams, to help savers and pensioners remain vigilant about their savings. Here are 5 common scams to look out for: 1️⃣ A free "pension review" followed by bad advice 2️⃣ Promises to help release cash from your pension even though you’re under the pension age 3️⃣ Guaranteed high returns 4️⃣ Uncommon (and therefore likely unregulated) investment opportunities 5️⃣ Complicated investments, that aim to confuse you into agreeing and not realising what you're signing up for All of these are common tactics, some of which will result in immediate financial implications while others can take years to become apparent. Regardless, if you have experienced any of the above techniques then you should get in touch with Pension Justice as soon as possible. ☎️ 0800 014 8275 📧 [email protected] #PensionJustice #UKPensions #PensionAdvice #PensionRegulations #PensionLawyer #UKLaw

"Have I been specifically targeted?" This is a question that many victims of pension scams ask themselves. Was it a direct target, or did they just get unlucky? More often than not, bad advisors pose as cold callers and go through the same spiel regardless of who picks up the phone - waiting for the one in five who will listen and take action during or following the call. So no, most of the time it is not a direct target but rather a bad stroke of luck if you pick up the phone to a cold caller. Which is why being vigilant is so important. Look out for our post next Tuesday on some of the most common pension scams according to the FCA. #PensionJustice #PensionScams #FraudPrevention #ProtectYourPension #ScamAwareness #PensionLawyer

This case study dates back to 2021, but brings to life a type of pension scam known as 'churning'. It involves a client who previously held a pension with ReAssure, but was advised by a cold caller to open a SIPP with Novia and transfer his pension into that SIPP. The advisor, named Omar Hussein, then told our client to invest in two unusual and high-risk funds. Following a transfer of over £23,800, the advisor withdrew a commission and then proceeded to purchase and sell a number of investments in quick succession to get even more commission - an act known as 'churning'. This essentially means that money was moved around to generate high commission but to confuse the overall investment picture and to hide losses. Unfortunately, the investments made were high risk and unregulated. On behalf of our client, we were able to claim interim compensation of £13,256 in light of the bad investments - with the hopes being that when more investments fail, we will be able to claim more. #PensionJustice #PensionLaw #UKPensions #PensionProtection #PensionLawyer #PensionRegulations
