We use the law as a tool to catalyse the sustainability transition through research, education, and engagement.

About us

The Oxford Sustainable Law Programme is a world-leading hub for research, teaching, and engagement. Launched in 2021, we see the law as a tool to catalyse the sustainability transition. Our work is multidisciplinary and informed by practice. We are action-oriented thinkers who leverage the law in novel ways. Led by Thom Wetzer, the we produce cutting-edge research in, but not limited to, attribution science and the law, systemic lawyering, and climate risk governance. We also focus on educating the leaders of today and tomorrow, and engaging with enterprise, government and beyond to achieve lasting impact.
