🚀 New study by Co-operative Futures on a Local Social Investment Fund for Oxfordshire! 🚀 Co-operative Futures has launched a feasibility study into local #socialinvestment in #Oxfordshire, part of the UK SPF Social Economy Growth Programme co delivered by OSEP CIC, Co-operative Futures, CAG Oxfordshire and Aspire Oxfordshire earlier this year and funded by Oxford City Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. We know that early-stage #socialenterprises often struggle with access to capital. But how do we bridge this finance gap and create a more #inclusiveeconomy? 🌱 This study outlines a road map for establishing a local social investment fund— one that makes finance more accessible and prioritises #socialreturn. By investing in purpose-led businesses and social enterprises, we can create long-term positive change for our communities. Want to learn more? NEW EVENT! It is well known that start-up social businesses are often under-capitalised. But there is also a shortage of smaller scale finance options accessible to early stage or growing socially trading organisations at both a local and national level. This gap has led to innovative and collaborative models to be developed in other regions, such as the Kindred Fund in Liverpool, that provide repayable finance such as loans or share investment. Could a local fund for social businesses be established in Oxfordshire? This event will explore the demand for social finance locally and introduce the concept of a local fund. This event is brought to you in collaboration with Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership (OIEP), Co-operative Futures, CAG Oxfordshire and Aspire Oxfordshire.
