🤔 What are quantum modalities? They are the qubit technologies which are utilised in quantum computing. The specific type of qubit used in a quantum device defines the modality of the quantum computer. Not all qubits are created equally however, and depending on the particles used determines their special properties and key traits such as their ideal operating environment. Learn more about the key modalities employed in today’s quantum computing in our ‘What are superconducting qubits?’ beginners guide 👉 https://lnkd.in/ec4JNPab #QuantumTechnology #QuantumComputing #SuperconductingQubits

🤔 What is entanglement? Our Senior Quantum Engineer, Todd Tilma suggests: “Contrary to what has been written about it, entanglement isn’t spooky, it's very real and a resource we use everyday.” Today we’re excited to launch the first episode of our brand new series OQC QuBites, where Todd demystifies entanglement and explains the fundamental principles of this quantum physics phenomenon. 🤔 What are superconducting qubits? As their name suggests, superconducting qubits are circuits made of superconducting materials, such as aluminium, that exhibit zero electrical resistance below a critical temperature. This places qubits in their ‘0’ state, required to start a calculation. Superconducting qubits have evolved since the late 1990s to become one of the main qubit technologies used by quantum computing companies due to their potential for scalability and integration with existing fabrication techniques. 🤔 What is a qubit? Just like a classical compute ‘bit’, a qubit is short for "quantum bit". Qubits are two-level systems that exist in a state of 0s and 1s, or a superposition of both. They are the foundational unit of information in quantum computing. Their ability to be in a superposition means that quantum algorithms can use a group of qubits in a superposition to shortcut through calculations, giving them their innate capacity to work faster. To learn more about qubits, their evolution and our implementation of superconducting qubits, download our ‘What are superconducting qubits?’ beginners guide today 👉 https://lnkd.in/ec4JNPab
