About us
Otermans Institute (OI) is an international organisation based in London, focusing on research and developing affordable educational tools for a global audience using Artificial Intelligence (AI). OI is committed to democratising education through Artificial Intelligence, upskilling learners globally and making them more employable in Industrial Revolution 4.0. We are on a mission to upskill 750 million students through soft skills and professional development skills training using an AI-teacher, ensuring that no learner is left behind. Through our training, we are supporting learners who are forced out of school due to the pandemic, those who are in extremely remote locations, and those who have been affected by violence and war-like refugees in United Nations camps. We often work closely with governments including in the UK, NGOs and UN bodies to help upskill such learners and help them become more employable. Just in the past two years, we have impacted 35,000+ learners globally.

What makes a leader kind? What does kindness in leadership look like in the workplace? Well, in our team, there’s a quiet force of nature who has been spreading her kindness to all members. Our People Manager Rovina has transformed a dispersed team into a close-knit family. She’s turned remote interactions into heartfelt connections, introducing virtual lunches and kindness days that bridge distances and build a collective spirit among all members of the company. Her kindness, her non-judgemental ear, and her fearless advocacy for her team’s wellbeing have become her hallmark. Rovina’s passion extends to leading the company’s CSR Digital Impact Training wing, educating hundreds of marginalised students every year. Her dedication to making a positive impact both within and outside the workplace is truly inspiring. When Rovina joined, the People function was very formal and ineffective. Since joining she has made it very personable and almost gives the entire team a feeling of being together in-person. As Chair of the Higher Education & Industry Connect UK Wing of the prestigious G100 Club founded by President Dr Harbeen Arora Rai, I would like to formally welcome Dr Pauldy Otermans as a Member of my Wing Advisory Council. Dr Pauldy who was nominated by my G100 Wing North West Regional Chair Eula Clarke, is a female Tech Leader in the UK, a neuroscientist and psychologist who is a recognised female leader of AI technology. She was awarded `Inspirational Woman` in the Tech Industry courtesy of the Hustle Awards, and was named one of the `22 most influential women in the UK for 2022 by Start-up Magazine. Dr Pauldy has also received recognition from the UK Prime Minister, which was back in 2021, and globally for her prowess and impressive work. Pauldy helped to build the first digital human teachers powered by AI back in 2021 called OIAI, and the language model developed for OIAI, is now used to power Teddy AI, which provides a conversational AI study buddy for all children aged 3-7 years. She was also the winner of the `Women in Tech Excellence` award in 2023. Dr Pauldy is also celebrated in the research community for AI in Education Research, and is the Topic Editor for `Frontiers in AI: The Role of Conversational AI in Higher Education`, so lets welcome Dr Pauldy Otermans to the G100 Club.
