Day 2 is well underway at #FloatingWind24! We kicked off with our Accelerating Consenting for Offshore Renewables Deployment (ACORD) Project Breakfast Briefing, which was a great way to start the day. 🌅 Also this morning, we held our third of four FOW #deepdives, The room was packed for a series of great presentations from First Marine Solutions, Global Maritime, Triton Anchor, Mooreast, Encomara and ORE Catapult, all of which delved into mooring and anchoring systems. There was a great session on conference stream B this morning which discussed how we keep the operations and maintenance (O&M) of floating wind afloat! Our Head of Sustainable O&M, Katharine York, chaired the session which explored the latest thinking around major component exchange, towing to shore, onsite solutions and autonomous O&M solutions. There were also great conversations around best practices gained via lessons learned from projects such as Equinor's Hywind Scotland. Katharine was joined by: 🔹Tim Eyles, Acteon Group. 🔹Helen West, Fugro. 🔹Beth Dickens, Quoceant Ltd 🔹William Munn, Equinor Scottish Renewables | RenewableUK

📢 LATEST NEWS: Academic-industry MOU signals ambitious plans for North East technology development in #offshorewind! Recently, we signed a memorandum of understanding with Durham University that will see academia and industry collaborate to tackle some of the offshore wind industry's toughest challenges. Having worked with Durham University for over a decade through initiatives such as a match-funded PhD programme, numerous offshore wind research projects and most recently, the Blyth-based Energy Central Campus (ECC), the MoU promises to enable closer collaboration and meaningful outputs in applied research. Tony Quinn, our Director of Technology Development said this: “The emergence of three strategic initiatives in the North East make the strengthening of this relationship particularly timely and exciting. The recent creation of the North East Combined Authority (NECA) and its prioritisation of offshore wind as a key opportunity; the development of the Energy Central Campus in Blyth, where University input on teaching and research will be crucial, and Durham University’s major strategic Science Transformation Project (STP) , all ensure that there couldn’t be a better time for us to align our focuses.” 👉Read the full announcement here:🔗 https://hubs.ly/Q02SVBd60 The North East Combined Authority | Equinor
