Super proud that Offploy.org has been awarded the Gold Award in the MoD’s Employer Recognition Scheme. It recognises all that we do to support veterans, reservists, and adult cadet force volunteers. When I was 13, I went to my friend’s house after school. I was told that they were leaving at 4:30pm as he had his first day at air cadets. It sounds so exciting, thinking I’d be flying a jet that evening, I asked if I could come along too. Five years later, after visiting countless camps; getting my flying scholarship; world-leading leadership training and sense of community that I still reminisce about today, I hung up my beret to pursue girls and entrepreneurialism. I regret leaving even to this day. However, I am forever filled with a sense of gratitude to the leaders of the combined cadet forces and wider military who continue to inspire and serve. So when Rik Willis MCMI approached me saying we should be doing more for colleagues and candidates who have served in the armed forces, I simply encouraged him and ultimately got out of his way. Today, I am proud to celebrate that Offploy has secured the #armedforcescovenant Gold Award in the UK Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. A big thank you to Pauline King for championing our cause. We’ve got a few big events planned for this including giving an individual an award at an RAF base. However, for now, I’d just like to celebrate Rik’s amazing work in helping Offploy.org demonstrate our commitment to veterans who we employ, mentor and live amongst.
