We were honoured to co-host MPs Pat McFadden and Catherine McKinnell with Charter School Bermondsey this afternoon to show how Aila, our AI-powered lesson assistant, is supporting teachers’ lesson planning! We showed them around a practical science lesson planned with Aila, and chatted to Charter’s brilliant teachers about how they’re using it to create high-quality lessons in a fraction of the usual time.

Want to know more about our partnership with the geographical association? Take a look at the blog written by our geography subject lead Graeme Schofield which will tell you more about our resources for KS1 and 2 and what's to come for KS3 and 4 this academic year.
‘We aim to ensure that all young people, regardless of their background, have access to high-quality geography resources’.’ In 2024, the GA and Oak National Academy proudly launched a free, fully resourced, and adaptable primary geography curriculum with over 230 lessons to spark pupils' curiosity about the world. Building on this success, we're thrilled to announce the development of a comprehensive KS3 and KS4 geography curriculum, set to be released in 2025, to further deepen pupils' geographical knowledge and skills. Oak National Academy reposted this
So the Oak National Academy computing resource roadshow pauses until the new year. Thanks to Matthew W. and Kelly Holden-White at Oxford Brookes University for the opportunity to speak to all the primary undergraduate and PGCE trainees about our AI lesson planning assistant Aila and our free OGL lesson resources. These are useful resources for their toolkit to help them plan lessons in their placement schools. Also thanks to Tom Rye at Ark Bolingbroke for the chance to introduce our new programming resources, which were used by teachers and pupils as part of their annual hackathon. The Raspberry Pi Foundation Code Editor integrated perfectly into the programming challenges which were based on the Oak lesson resources. It was lovely to see the resources being used in a non-classroom environment. Next stop in January, Teach First with Jonathan Usherwood, followed by our first lesson releases!

⚡Don’t just take it from us. Across the 2023/2024 academic year, here’s how teachers found using our resources helped them - from time saved to workload management to improved wellbeing, all of which leave teachers free to spend more time with pupils! 💫1 in 3 teachers use Oak and those teachers are making the most of new resources - with Oak usage up 158% on last year! 💫73% of Oak users see a positive impact on their workload - either reducing their hours, or freeing them up to spend more time with pupils. 💫Oak users work almost five hours fewer per week with the impact growing the more a teacher uses Oak. And these are just the highlights… For a more detailed look at how we’ve impacted teachers over the last year, dive into the full blog post: https://oaknat.uk/4iuaRin
