Great to see our 2024 Graduation Ceremony featured in today's Derry Journal. It was an unforgettable day, where we celebrated the success of our Graduates. Congratulations to all.

Welcome news this week that the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Mid South West City Deals have been given the green light to proceed. As with the Derry City and Strabane District Council City Deal – this major investment will support growth and create jobs in the region, while delivering transformative projects in infrastructure, education, and tourism. The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council deal will see over £70m invested to support projects which build on the region’s digital and innovation capabilities, and will include a Food Innovation and Skills Centre of excellence at NWRC’s Main Street campus in Limavady. Patrick McKeown, Finance Director, who sits on the CC&G Growth Deal Executive Programme Board welcomed the Chancellor’s announcement commenting that the investment will enhance the college’s strategy to support innovation and skills development within the food industry. Leo Murphy, Principal and Chief Executive said that the Growth Deal investment will stimulate economic growth and help to deliver regional balance as well as achieving the objectives of better jobs, productivity, and getting to net zero for the region. 

Happy Diwali to all who will be celebrating!   Our partner charity Strabane Ethnic Community Association will hold their annual Diwali Night in St Patricks Hall, Strabane on Saturday November 9 at 6:45 where everyone is welcome to attend.  They will also host Diwali workshops in Rangoli Art, Diya making and Henna on Saturday November 2 at the SECA centre 11am-1pm.   #Diwali #mynwrc

UNSTOPPABLE FRANK!   So proud of our graduate Frank who graduated from NWRC yesterday with an Access Adult Learning Diploma in Health and Welfare. Chukwuka Frank Nwanonenyi was the first ever recipient of NWRC Asylum Seeker Scholarship and he’s now continuing his education at NWRC and has enrolled in the Foundation Degree in Applied and Medical Science.
