2 weeks to go until the “Back to the 80s” Charity Ball, which takes place on Friday 15th November at Titanic Belfast - in support of international charity WaterAid. The annual ball, organised by the WaterAid NI Committee, will see the water industry fundraising for a crucial WaterAid project in Rwanda, working alongside local communities to increase access to water, improve sanitation services and promote good hygiene practices. Colleagues from Uisce Éireann Irish Water recently joined us at NI Water's Energy Battery Storage site at Dunore Point for an exciting knowledge-sharing visit hosted by our Energy Future team. The session explored NI Water's innovative renewable energy projects, including advancements in battery storage, solar energy, and green hydrogen, in addition to our one million trees planting initiative. These initiatives highlight our shared commitment to creating a more sustainable future for the water industry.

Request for Information (RFI) – Leakage Detection Equipment This RFI is a general market enquiry to identify and engage with suppliers who can supply and deliver Leakage Detection Equipment to NI Water. This encompasses traditional equipment and some that will provide reliable real-time monitoring and accurate leak identification. NI Water is also interested in understanding any additional services related to maintenance, calibration and integration of the equipment that suppliers may offer. A new study to investigate water quality at Ballyholme Beach in Bangor has been extended until February 2025 to better understand water pollution in the winter season. Launched at the start of 2024, the study is being led by NI Water and is fully supported by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and the Agri-food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI). Its goal is to pinpoint the primary sources of pollution that are negatively affecting water quality in the region, enabling authorities to make informed decisions about future remediation actions and investment needs.
