🤝 Our Community Link Groups provide a space for tenants and leaseholders to raise issues and ideas that are important to them and are specific to their local community with officers and councillors from the District Council and partner organisations such as Nottinghamshire Police. ☕ Light refreshments will be available and there is no need to book your place at these meetings; just turn up on the day. Yesterday we held a Halloween Litter Pick at the Boughton Community Hub – a fun spooktacular way to help tidy up the estate! 20 bags of rubbish and two old lawnmowers were collected from the estate by our brilliant volunteers! Everyone then went back to the Hub for warm jacket potatoes with chilli con carne and sponge cakes which everyone decorated for Halloween. We even gave out prizes for best fancy dress and a special prize for the most enthusiastic litter picker! Thank you to everyone for your hard work! ‼️ SCAM ALERT ‼️ We are aware of individuals targeting residents by pretending to be from Thermotech and claiming to be sent by the District Council. They are claiming that the loft insulation foam in your house is not right and needs replacing – they are quoting a few thousand pounds and are demanding payment then and there. This is a scam. Please remember to check the identification of anyone who comes to your door to ensure they work for who they say they work for and do not give them your bank details. If you are in doubt please call 01636 650 000.

Last week we held a Dementia Friendly Afternoon Tea at Newark Town Hall! 50 people attended and enjoyed a friendly social atmosphere as well as a sing along and a dance! Members and volunteers from Newark Memory Café and Newark Dementia Carers Groups attended along with other members of the local community. It was a lovely afternoon had by all!
