Traditional PEM membrane technologies face pressure limitations, stability issues at high temperatures, and rely on costly rare earth minerals. 🌡️ AQSORPTION LTD, winners of the 2024 Electrolyser Open Competition, have developed an innovative, high-pressure, membraneless green hydrogen #electrolyser that effectively addresses these constraints. 🏆 This technology can produce #hydrogen at pressures suitable for direct storage and transmission, reducing costs by an estimated 20-30%. The system efficiency will be boosted even further by recapturing #energy from the high-pressure oxygen output. 💡 Read more: https://lnkd.in/evHTftin

  • Salt caverns offer a safe and efficient storage solution for #hydrogen at an industrial relevant scale. The ability to facilitate swift injection / withdrawal could see salt caverns playing a crucial role in balancing supply and demand in the hydrogen economy.  💧

The Autumn Budget has confirmed that GB Energy, the UK Government’s new energy company, will receive £125 million in funding. Additionally, there is renewed support for clean energy industries to create jobs across the UK, with backing for electrolytic hydrogen production, floating offshore wind port infrastructure, and the establishment of the UK’s first CCUS clusters. Myrtle Dawes, CEO of the NZTC, comments: "We welcome this investment and government support, which will be key to advancing R&D, driving innovation, and unlocking the potential of emerging clean energy technologies, propelling us towards a responsible and successful energy transition. For decades, Aberdeen and the north-east have been at the forefront of energy innovation. With GB Energy’s presence and the development of other schemes to support the transition to a greener future, we are poised to lead the next chapter in the global energy revolution. Ministers must act swiftly to initiate additional green energy projects. We look forward to collaborating with the UK Government, GB Energy, and our diverse network of developers and partners to accelerate the development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies, positioning the UK as a global leader in clean energy." https://bit.ly/3UoZUDZ Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
