Stepping outside her comfort zone to explore the underwater world, Rebecca loved learning about our animals and making guests smile daily. The Engineering Academy offers hands-on, real-world training that empowers our team to own their craft and focus on practical, real-world skills that can be immediately applied across our global attractions. Expanding learning opportunities even further, the next six months will see the academy offer fifteen new courses and nine new masterclasses which will support technical colleagues in Florida, New York, Malaysia, and Korea. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) membership, the first aquarium in the Oceania region to do so! 🌎 Joining the ranks of the world's most influential and impactful zoos and aquariums in the conservation and welfare space, this landmark achievement reflects the attraction's commitment to marine conservation and education on a global scale. This week marks 50 years of terrifying thrills and eerie encounters at the iconic London Dungeon 😱 For the very first time in its history, the legendary attraction is opening its archives for brave guests to explore. From authentic punishment tools dating back to pre-Victorian times to sinister haunted dolls, half a century’s worth of artefacts will be available for courageous guests to discover in the lead up to Halloween. Adam Keeler, Performance Manager at the London Dungeon who has stepped into the role of archivist for the 50th anniversary, said “As we’ve had our doors open to the public for 50 years, we thought it was about time we drew back the curtain to reveal some of the most weird and wonderful props, weapons and even spirits we have lurking behind the scenes of our shows. LEGOLAND® Shanghai 上海乐高乐园度假区 Resort has made its debut at the 2024 Shanghai Tourism Festival, leading the parade with a customized LEGOLAND themed float. 🎈   Crafted by Merlin’s Magic Making team, the first ever LEGO float features attractions and experiences guests will discover at the resort when it opens, including The Dragon Coaster, Driving School, and CITY Airport. Joining the LEGO float on parade was DADA, LEGOLAND Shanghai’s brand-new character, who will be unique to the eagerly anticipated resort. The intricately designs float teased even more experiences awaiting guests at the resort, including nods to local culture through the inclusion of a boat ride, symbolising the unique charm of the Yangtze River Delta region which the resort will call home.   John Ussher, Senior Divisional Director LEGOLAND Developments, said “Merlin Entertainments is the go-to partner for IP owners to bring brands that people love to life. Thanks to the support from local government and partners, we’re bringing this much-loved brand to China. LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort will, from next year, enrich the business of local cultural tourism industry and provide more diversified travel options for tourists in the Yangtze River Delta region.”   Set to open in 2025, the resort promises to become a world-class family destination with over 75 interactive rides, exciting shows, and themed lands tailored for kids aged 2-12.
