At Meridian we currently hold a large amount of clean certified stock of HFC227ea, as a result of this we are currently able to offer an extremely special rate to new and existing customers for Service Exchange, Refills and Bulk sales.   We clean the gas internally and have it externally tested and certified by an independent laboratory to meet ISO 14520-9 (2019) and BS EN 15004-5 (2008) specification. Well it's about time!! No hang on, it's always been that time at Meridian. Still no pass-down surcharges for inert gas at MTS We're still cracking value for money as ever. Unlike many others in the industry a few years ago, we chose not to pass on all those energy related surcharges that we were hit with by our gas supply chain. We didn't think our customers were the ones who should be burdened with the extra costs of filling cylinders with inert gasses so... we didn't pass them on. So it shouldn't come as a surprise to you that we're still not doing that today, yes right now, today. Does anyone in the fire industry know the difference between a cracked cylinder wall and a manufacturing artefact? Luckily for you, We do! Not everyone seems to know though🤔 .... Using a UKAS certified Inspection Body such as Meridian Technical Services Ltd*, could save you from throwing away (rejecting) a perfectly useful batch of cylinders.... Read on if you've time to learn more... Sometimes during the manufacturing process of a cylinder, the wall can become deformed and leave what may appear to the un-trained/in-experienced eye to be cracks or structural weaknesses. Often however these manufacturing deformities do not detract from the serviceability of the cylinder. If the cylinder still passes it's thorough initial testing, and is deemed by the IB to meet the manufacturing standards required in our industry, the manufacturer will usually release it for safe use. When it comes to periodic inspection at its 10 year interval, so long as the minimum wall thickness of the cylinder is maintained and the artefact remains unchanged, (and the cylinder passes the multitude of other criteria in this visual inspection section of the international standard), there's no need to reject the cylinder at this point of the periodic inspection process.
