Mercy Corps is horrified by the alarming continuation of violence committed against civilians in Israel and Gaza, and deeply concerned by the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. As the conflict escalates, the urgent need for humanitarian assistance - and supplies including water, food and fuel - intensifies. Mercy Corps has worked in the West Bank and Gaza since 1986, providing humanitarian support including access to water, working with children and young people, and connecting people to economic opportunities in an area where unemployment is over 40 percent. We are working to restart our humanitarian programs in Gaza and our team members there are committed to significantly ramping up much-needed lifesaving assistance as soon as it is safe to do so. #gaza #israel #palestine #humanitarianaid

About us
POWERED BY POSSIBLE The world is more fragile than ever. Food shortages have left millions of people hungry, while violent conflict has sent millions on the run. From poverty and malnutrition to natural disasters and climate change, it’s easy to see a world of insurmountable challenges. Instead, we see an opportunity to create transformative change. We see the world differently. In crisis, we believe in the power of human potential. In struggle, we believe in the ability of communities to grow stronger. So we act differently. We understand that communities are the best agents of their own change and local markets are the best engines of long-term recovery. In more than 40 countries, we partner to put bold solutions into action, helping people triumph over adversity and grow stronger from within. For the refugee who dreams of rebuilding her country, for the mother who wants a healthy future for her children — for millions of people filled with the power of possibility —Mercy Corps connects people to the resources they need to build better, stronger lives. We create transformative change. Mercy Corps has responded to nearly every global emergency over the past 20 years. Since 1979, we have provided $3.7 billion in lifesaving assistance throughout the world. Each year we infuse millions of dollars into local economies through small business loans and grants to provide livelihoods for the world’s most vulnerable people. We are empowering more than 100,000 youth trapped by violent conflict to overcome the profound stress of war and become change makers in their communities. We are powered by the belief that a better world is possible. Join us.

These are only a few of the testimonials we’ve received from our colleagues in #Gaza in the past year. They’ve described relentless bombardments, weaponized hunger, forced displacement, violations of humanitarian law — this apocalyptic list goes on and on. This is the devastating reality for them and millions of Gazans. How much longer must they wait for an end to this horrific war? 🚨 Let aid in. End the siege. #CeasefireNOW.

América and the Caribbean are on the forefront of facing climate collapse. This is why I think we can forge a different path when assembling, mobilizing, and activating social and financial capital in ways that transcend historical barriers and accelerate climate resilience for the whole world. Thanks Mercy Corps / Mercy Corps Ventures team in letting me break down why, on the sidelines of the event they hosted with Reciprocal Studio, Savia Ventures, Salkantay Ventures, Positive Ventures, and Cordillera during #ClimateWeekNYC. Especially grateful for those that share my enthusiasm for an equitable and just climate transition in the Caribbean Waldo Soto Bruna, Gabriela Carrasco, Andrew Don, Daniel Gajardo, Dr. Mar Fernández-Méndez, Jason Cole, Andrew Don, Ramon Cruz, Andrés Bisonó León, Isa Suárez-Sikes, Christine Nieves, Tara St James, Pablo Benson, Alberto Mercado Vargas, Antares Ramos-Álvarez, DPhil (Oxon), Paulina Zanela, Mikol Hoffman, Tania Rosario-Méndez, MPH, Jonathan Meléndez-Davidson, Daniel Whittle, Abimarie Otaño Cruz, Nuria Net, Renata Beca Barragán, Katherine Trujillo, Luis Antonio Otero Díaz, Daphne Ewing-Chow, Kirk - Anthony Hamilton, Nicholas Kee, Mona Webber, Dean Morris, Sara Santiago, Daniel Kleinman, ChangemakerXchange, & others
