MIS assessments of the major flooding in southeast Spain continue. Sadly, this tragic event has now claimed the lives of over 200 people, with an additional 1,000 soldiers brought in by the Spanish Government to assist with the ongoing rescue efforts. To help clients establish where their in-force properties, policies and portfolios have been impacted by this event, the team have added a Flood Claims Layer to the GEO report. This covers affected areas in the Valencia region where flooding has been confirmed and the probable extent. There are also updates to the Flood Exposure Layer, which highlights more locations across the region that have potentially been flooded. Login to GEO and get ahead of incoming claims for this devastating flooding event. If you're without GEO but want to understand how your business in southeast Spain may have been impacted, contact the team: https://lnkd.in/g9qQeeUt

Our thoughts go out to those affected by the devastating flooding in Spain as the MIS team make assessments of this event. Tragically, over 150 people have died as a result of the significant flooding caused by over a year's worth of rainfall coming down around southeast Spain. To provide clients with an initial understanding of where their in-force locations are at risk of damage from flooding, the team have released an initial report and Flood Exposure Layer on GEO. This exposure layer highlights areas across southeast Spain that have potentially been flooded. Head to GEO now to establish where your business could likely be affected by this major event. If you do not have GEO access but would like to unlock our coverage of this event, make sure to get in touch today: https://lnkd.in/eWfAz8i8

As we reach the end of another month, we thought we'd reflect on what has been a busy last four weeks for the MIS team. Whilst behind the scenes the team have been incredibly busy informing insurers' responses to both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton through GEO, we've also been out and about at several industry events both in London and the US. September ended with a trip to the Insurance Council of Texas 2024 State Insurance Trade Association for James Doe and David Heathcote. October then started with The Insurance Network London Market Claims, which was attended by Forbes McKenzie, Oliver Bradburne and Dominique Morizet, as well as James Doe. We also sponsored a session at the event, entitled 'Optimising claims processes through data & analytics', led by Enrico Alessandri from Swiss Re. Then the middle of the month saw Rosina S. and Matthew Patience head to the Mandalay Bay for InsureTech Connect Vegas, marking the final event of a packed few weeks! Before we head into November, there's just a final message we'd like to share that we can only say today: Happy Halloween! 🎃

With 51,017 new tech businesses registered in the UK last year, Britain has emerged as a leader of innovation in Europe. In fact, government data from 2021-2022 positions our country as the second-leading nation for startups, preceded only by the US and potentially, by China 🚀 Behind these figures lies enormous economic potential – something the former government recognised when committing to making us a global tech leader by 2030. And, with critical systems like the NHS central to the current Labour government’s plans relying on such economic growth and technological innovation, it’s vital that these promises are maintained and backed – not only by promises but also by tangible funding and support... 👇 Read more from Forbes McKenzie, founder, and CEO of McKenzie Intelligence Services below 👇 #StartupsMagazine #Startups #Entrepreneur #Budget

Somehow it's already been a few weeks since our #SpotTheButterfly initiative went live at stations in London and other key commuter locations. Whether it's in the form of a poster on a platform, an eye-catching escalator video or on the wall of the underground, we are thrilled to see the MIS butterfly popping up all over the place! If you see the butterfly on your travels, make sure to grab a picture and share it with the hashtag to continue to raise awareness on how quick and effective response by the insurance community is vital to support those impacted by disaster. Take a look at where the butterfly has already been spotted by commuters with a keen eye: Cambridge, Bank, Monument and Cannon Street
