Two weeks ago we hosted a breakfast roundtable at Last Mile Conference, focused on exploring investment opportunities in Leyton and Lea Bridge. London Borough of Waltham Forest. This week, we joined Cllr Louise Mitchell, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, at a Winter Wellness event. “It gives residents a sense of independence, a better quality of life and improves their mental health and wellbeing.” For World Occupational Therapy Day, we spoke to two of our Social Care team about the profession, why they love coming to work each day and what difference can be made to a resident's life if they need support. An Occupational Therapist focuses on maximising a person's independence, gives advice, suggests support equipment, and can recommend major adaptations to a resident's home.
