We are pleased to announce the launch of our Sexual Health campaign where we will be focusing on all things related to sexual and reproductive health for the next 12 months. From menopause to men’s health we’ll be covering it all to help residents #StaySexuallyHealthy.

To mark International Overdose Awareness Day #IOAD2024 our staff visited Ridley Road market on Thursday and Friday this week to distribute needle and syringe provision, drug and alcohol support and naloxone training. Residents were also invited to write messages on a “Wall of Reflection” to discuss how overdose has impacted them and how #TogetherWeCan #EndOverdose for good.

🤝 At Hackney, we’ve proudly insourced our waste service, our office cleaning staff and our parking service - with better pay and conditions for staff and better services for residents. Rotimi Ajilore , our Assistant Director, Procurement and Energy Services, recently took part in an Local Government Chronicle roundtable with colleagues from other councils, where he discussed Hackney’s journey and the principles we apply to insourcing. The London Borough of Hackney is offering free Making Every Contact Count training to anyone working or volunteering in Hackney and/or the City of London. The training will equip participants with skills to have impactful health conversations. The next session is 21 August! Participants will gain confidence, explore key conversation skills, and learn key MECC principles. After the 2-hour online sessions, attendees will understand health factors, engage in short conversations, possess effective communication skills, and access resources for supporting health improvement.
